Generally the back lense on the stamper has a slight magnifying effect and being able to remove it gives you a much clearer view of what your doing. Not to mention acetone destroys the plastic if it gets on there so it's nice that it can be removed. Also with the back on, the pressure of the stamper head is firmer then if the back is removed 😁 I'm a big fan of the removable backs
@@JilliesNails Ahhh. I see what you mean. I honestly joined Mani x me because I wanted this stamper. I love that it's large and that the back come off, which made it a huge improvement from their clear monocle stamper they already have. I also found that it is stickier then their orig monocle stamper too. I wanna love Maniology's stampers, but I don't. I also received a new ice cube steamer and I can see the improvements they made to the silicone but haven't tried it out yet. So far none I tried from them have worked well for my stamping style. I also have a love hate relationship with their polish. I keep trying new stuff cause hey companies can improve, but I just feel like there is better (alot of times cheaper) options. But I'm always willing to experiment with different things. Sorry that got so long winded, I could talk stamping all day long 😂😂
@@shelbymariucci8390 Hey, I get it! We all have our preferences. I would have liked this a lot more had I been able to see through it. If they had just put the glitter around the edges or something I wouldn’t have disliked it so much. I don’t always use Maniology either. Sometimes, I find the Clear Jelly Stamper works better. But, most of mine are Maniology, they all do work for me.
Thanks for reviewing boxes for others. I don't mind the box. It was not my favorite. I actually like the glitter stamper. But my favorite thing is that the back pops off the stamper and you can put it directly under the silicone insert. The monocle stampers are difficult for me. Especially when they don't stay put. Moving the stamper back has been a game changer for me. Love your videos. Keep telling it like you see it.

@@JilliesNails Take out the silicone. Pop out the bottom. Drop the backing plate in the top. It will fit. Put the silicone in the top (which will now be sitting on the popped out plate). I've heard others suggest putting glue there to keep the silicone from falling in as they stamp. The back makes the silicone stamper firm. Just pop out the back and put it in the top. I hope this helps. It's crazy how difficult it is to describe.
Hey! You may love it. I'm seriously a grump about food nails for me. Every once in awhile, maybe some strawberry nails or watermelon, but overall, not so much. If you love foodie things, you'll probably be good. For me, it was just not very inspiring! Let me know what you think when it arrives and you have a chance to play!
@Jillie's Nails - I feel like you. I was not inspired and decided not to purchase. I don't like food on my nails either. And after watching Maniology do their unboxing video on RU-vid, I just didn't feel like I wanted that box. Just like last month, I wasn't inspired to run and purchase that box either, wearing weather scenes on my nails isn't my jam. So you are not being a grump, you were sharing your honest opinion, which for me is greatly appreciated.
Wow, I don't think I have ever watched one of your Mani X Me box reviews where you didn't show a mani at some point. You really didn't like this box! I don't have mine yet, maybe next week. I hope next months box blows our socks off. Thanks for trying and sharing.
My Dad and I were talking about it. You’re right, I’ve never not been able to create something. When I finally had the idea and didn’t like the beach balls I was DONE. I literally sat in the studio for 4 hours trying to come up with a concept and an hour painting and trying to pick stuff up. I hit my “done” point. I’m sure it will be great for other people, but 100% honest, I would have skipped that one.
I only got the box for the polishes, the umbrella top and the square with the ice cream. I like food images, but not the pool floats. I do not know why anyone thought these plates should be made. I could care less about imaginary people’s body types, but i would never decorate with pool tiles and people floating around. This is the worst box to date and i should have skipped it, but two images sucked me in. I agree, i could never be inspired to create a whole look from these plates. Glad i found your channel, I appreciate actual honest reviews. It seems most other channels with honest reviews just means that they sit on the fence with no real opinion to keep from making anyone angry. Fence sitting is not helpful, i like hearing all opinions no matter if i agree or not, it is actually helpful.

I’ve turned down PR “for a good review” more than anyone knows. I just feel like as someone who does reviews, it’s a lie to say everything is roses and sunshine all the time. I have said what I really think about a lot of popular polish brands. I’ve even had people tell me I’m “wrong” or don’t know what I’m doing. Ok, but it’s still my opinion even if someone doesn’t like it. I’m not gonna kiss ass to get PR. I can afford to buy it. 😜
Yeah you’re not supposed to have to fight so hard to come up with a neat design. I of course as your Daddy dont do nails but even I can see the difficulty this one presents. And ladies I can promise you my daughter is being sincere and sometimes brutally honest about her experience. She gets that from a stubborn Taurus Dad and a red headed Leo Mom!
Hi my sweet Jillie! I of course love every mani you create but this months stamping plates were not my fav but they are cute. I still can’t get over last months weather stamping plates! I too hate pineapples! I swear every summer they put a pineapple in/on something and I hate it. But I digress. I also don’t like the glitter stamper. It is pretty, sure, but not practical. I personally don’t have or use opaque or non clear stampers because I want to see that I am doing. One exception is the shrinking stamper but that has a specific need for it to be not clear. (I think if it could be clear it would) I will find use for the pool floats and backgrounds though. I like the colors but haven’t gotten to use them yet. Hope I have better luck than you. Definitely not my favorite box. My least favorite box was the Cupid thorn box from last year. But have only been getting boxes since October of 2020.
There was a trend a couple of years back where pineapples were everywhere in nail art. It wore me out. That’s why I don’t like them on nails. I also don’t like the fruit. I started stamping with opaque stampers, but now I’m hooked on clear for sure! Up to now, my least favorite was the unicorn box.
Great! I’m glad you like it! It would have taken a smidge of effort to make it show more variety of body types. They put a man on there, so obviously inclusivity was on their minds given that the predominant audience is women. They could have put one of those spots for someone with larger hips or a tummy. The Admin even made a comment that they should have thought that through.
I feel the same. I saw another review of the box and thought *I sure am glad I didn’t order that one!*. The design of the beach balls is a very poor design.
I skipped that box; I love some of the images but just wasn't excited about it overall. The glitter on the stamper is pretty but it gets in the way of stamping. Nevertheless, I appreciate your review of the box.
Oh boy. Here we go. I just got my box in and opened it right with your video and I haven't even watched your whole video yet, but I'm going to voice my thoughts and then I'll see what yours are. First of all, the glitter stamper is cute, but the point of a clear stamper is to be able to see through it for placement and that glitter obstructs my view, so that is a miss for me. The plates are cute but starting to be some repeats in patterns and they have given us pineapples and beach themes before (many times). My biggest problem is I have short nails, and these designs are simply too big. The layering designs are cute, but have you ever tried to actually do it?!!! It's NOT EASY. Maybe that is just me. Okay, now to finish watching and see what YOU had to say about it.
I agree with you too. Although, I am kind of used to layering, I feel like it's harder than reverse stamping! Definite repeats.. What did you think after looking at it a bit?
I love and adore maniology. They are one of my favorite nail art companies. Being honest though.....I too very dislike this box. In fact the last several boxes I have not cared for. I will use some of the weather plate images, but that theme wasn't really my style though. The storyteller box, I didn't like that one at all. I have tried and tried to come up with a mani from that box and just can't. I know tons of people adored that set. I just can't get inspired by it at all though. The pet cemetery one I hated too. Dead pets just isn't something for me. I emailed them to skip this box, but they said they didn't get it in time. I emailed 8 days before it was charged and shipped. The day they announced the box contents, I emailed them to skip. I couldn't have emailed them any earlier. so I ended up with it. That is 3 in a row that I haven't really liked. Plus a lot of the images or themes seem repetitive lately. I have been a maniology customer since they first started releasing stamping items under B.M.C, then under Bundle monster. I just feel like they have used similar images and themes on other past plates. Sure many of the plates were discontinued and no longer produced, but it just seems like a waste. I own most of their older plates. I would have liked something different than similar themes from their old mini b.m.c plates. There have been Other boxes I have really liked. It is all just hit or miss. Lately though it has just been a streak of boxes and plates that don't fit my style. Back to this box.....I too hate food items on my nails. It just isn't me. Some of the images are difficult to use. Some of images are hard to tell what they are. I do like the polish colors. The stamper though- ugh! It is pretty to look at. Yet it is not very easy to see through. Born pretty and a few other nail companies did holo stampers. So I guess maniology figured they needed to get in on it too. I don't want to struggle to see my image or reverse stamp it. That is the whole point of me using a clear stamper. Another issue with maniology is that so many of the images on their plates ( not just mani x me ) are just too big lately. It is like they are being made now for extra wide nail beds and very large & long fake nails. My nails are natural nails, "sport" length. So kind of short. I have really curved nails and a tiny nail bed. I can't use a lot of the images on their plates lately. I can use part of them, but then you can't really tell what the image is supposed to be. I liked when moyou london released a plate with the images shrunk down to fit shorter and smaller nails. Then they had the same plate with the images large sized for fake or large nails. ~fingers crossed that next month's box is something that I will really enjoy.
I did like the story teller box, but because I was looking at it as musicals! I LOVE musicals, and a lot of the poster's were smiliar! I kinda liked teh weather, but this one, I'm sorry you didn't like either. Yes, I go back to the BMC days too. Far enough that I see some of their current plates are just pushing 2 of the mini plates together, which isn't a horrible idea for a re-release. I kind of sturggle about the big versus small images. I have wide nails, but so many more people have tiny hands. I ALMOST feel like a long nail and a sport nail box would be good, so you could buy what best fits you. I have no idea how that would relate to production costs though, so it might not be cost effective. I'm hoping for next month too. Last time they did the ocean theme though, the whole summer was geared around oceanic stuff. I hope not on pools! Although if it was water, and they did lakes and stuff too that could be fun. Just NO MORE FOOD. Not for me anyway! ;) Well, maybe if it was garden food (like on the vines or stalks) since I have a garden this year.
I know this was a year ago but... do you still have the Pool Party plate? I actually kind-of want it for the water reflection design, but I can't find anyone reselling it!
Everything you said is the truth. I was excited for the beach ball design until I swatched it, it’s poorly designed. The stamper is cute but it’s not easy seeing through it and I had a hard time using it. Maybe it’s because I’m not use to the shape #idk. It actually reminds me of something from Born Pretty. Just like you, I was like 💭💭💭💭 why? why? why? The polishes were nothing special. The Splash is cute and I don’t understand the concept of the Watermelon Float. Maybe because one of the float is a watermelon and because the plates do have images of watermelons. I didn’t understand some of the images. This is my least favorite box.
I really tried hard to like this one. The stamper is interesting. I wish they had that shape, but a clear stamping head. The glitter is cute in theory, but not in practicality.
Oh man I have this box coming. I did the express version. So now I'm wondering if I should have skipped it lol 😆 it looked pretty good when it first came out but after seeing your review and Guylene325 I'm wondering... well it will be here soon-ish so i will let you know
