What a beautiful location! I know that if I were Inger I'd want to be milked there, haha. She is a very lucky cow to have such a kind and lovely woman to milk her. :)
+Anon Ymous Milking a cow is easier because her teats are bigger and she makes more milk. Also sheep need to be trained from very young to be handled and milked. Sheep are harder to train - but it is possible. We once had milking sheep - the friesian ones. But they need very high quality feed and lots of supplement feeding - which I don`t like. Grassfed - naturallly kept animals are best - in every way. Love Katrine
Hello, Katrine. Thanks for sharing you experiences and homestead. We too, are trying to have a homestead and milk cows. So far, it's an experience I would call an adventure. Unfortunately, our cow also wants to kick, so my husband does the milking and I help and hold her. I love every moment of the simple farm like and look forward to many things, including making cheese. I like Swiss. Do you have a favorite cheese recipe? God be with you and your family! Blessings to you!
Oh thank you so much dear Ginger! How wonderful that you are on this fantastic adventure! Oh actually I love the simple feta cheese - it is SO easy and SO tasty also for putting on bread. Bless you and all your family of two and fourlegged lovedones! Love Katrine

Fensterfarm Greenhouse Hi There. Thanks for your comment. Yes Inger the cow does make lots of milk. I do find the taste of the milk changes from day to day. This morning it is was espescially nice. Bless you friend. Love Katrine
I love that knitted skirt! It is espcially wonderful that your mother knitted it, and you have had it since you were a teenager. And it even still fits! I saw a pattern like that in a Burda magazine in 1977. Perhaps that was the very pattern she used?
Oh thank you! Yes actaully it is a traditonal danish pattern - a handspun skirt from the 1800s - it is in a museum here. The pattern was written down for us modern people - so we can remake it. handspun is even more beautiful! Yes I am garteful my mother was so clever and kind to knit it for me! Bless you dear friend! Love Katrine
+zinakan Hi Zinakan - thanks for your message! No I didn`t know anything about nature really til I was 18 years old! I learned to milk on a sheepfarm in Australia. It takes a little practice - as it is really the technique - and not the strength - that is important. Living with animals - especially cows - is SO special. You have a lot to look forward to - my friend! Take care and bless you! Love Katrine
how much do you feed your cow INGER I would love to know. we will be moving hopefully in 4 years but I want to get a cow but I don't know which one I should get what breed produce's the most.
+muscovy duck&chicken breeder Hi there how wonderful - you want a cow! The jersey is a beautiful cow - but does produce ALOT of milk. I will be trying the dexter cow soon. I think this will be better. They are dual purpose - and make good milk. Thay are also very strong and healthy and need VERY little feed. They come from Irland and can live off very poor land. But GRASS is what you need for a cow - that`s thei no. 1 food!! Also company - and lots of love. They are very sensitive animals. Bless you my friend and good luck with your dreams!! Love Katrine
+kamal uddin Thank you so much Kamal. I just bought a beautiful little ghee lamp from India. You have a very rich culture! Bless you my friend! Love Katrine

+Nil Farnendiz Dear Nil thank you very much for your nice comments! My cow is very easy to milk, beause the milk flows fast. I only have one cow, but soon I will be getting two little young cows - so one day I will be milking a bit more. I love cows. Where do you come from`? Do you have cows? Bless you my friend! Love Katrine
+Tayyab Hussain Oh Yes I understand! Jersey cows are great but also other cows can be good milkers - if they are used to being milked alot from the first time they calf. A mixed breed is a stronger and more healthy animal - I think. Bless you my friend - I pray you find a great cow one day! Love Katrine
