Ugh...I feel your pain mowing the lawn. That was my chore growing up (when my father was on the road. When he was home, he wanted to do it) and I hated it. Fortunately, my husband does it for us now, which is a great relief to me!
I remember picking pine cones and dandelions when I was little, before my dad was going to mow the lawn, and my compensation was about the equivalent of one cent per cone/plant 😂 I do have a great work ethic now though haha! My partner helps a lot with mowing as well, but sometimes there’s only me so… boots on! 😊 Feels good afterwards!

You are definitely worthy of taking time and care for yourself, no qualifications needed. There is always a balance and it can be hard to know where that is. But in my mind I’m like well a tenth of the time should be ok to spend on me right? And then I’m like excuse me, a tenth?? Should be more like other people get a tenth! Just an example of course, but my thinking is so screwed I need to swing the scales back the other way and then I might land somewhere more reasonable than where I started 😊 I imagine it’s even harder with a little one as well! I’m sure you’re doing great, so take the time you feel you need and want (!) and don’t feel guilty about it. Give yourself the same as you would allow others. I’m really enjoyed your vlog. Your summer home is adorable - it makes me want one so much. I also like to mow the grass for the same reasons you do plus it helps me get exercise once a week. We have a half acre and all of the neighbors with the same size or smaller yards ride riding lawnmowers, but I use a push mower. Maybe when I am super old I will get a riding lawnmower lol. And yes, I would definitely watch a RU-vid channel that shows your renovations on your summer house. I have an Instagram channel where I document our house renovations and I always enjoy watching them.
And I also wanted to mention that I like to watch your videos because my grandmother was from Sweden. Her mother came from.Orlunda Ostergothland and her father from Halmstad. :)

Orlunda is not very far from where I am, I had never heard of it but it’s close to Vadstena where there is an old convent (?) like where the nuns were, which is very well known. It’s a really pretty town, maybe I could go there and vlog it over the summer. Go hunting for books there or something 😊 Just thinking out loud here, but I’ll keep it in mind! Do you know any more about their story, about the move to the US?

I felt it was a little slow at the beginning, but I liked it overall. I did learn a LOT from the book because I knew nothing of the Sami people previously and I could not imagine the life of a reindeer-herder. Usually I'm not a big fan of vlogs but yours was delightful! I love your summer cabin and I am impressed with your bravery with the wasp nest! I also find mowing quite relaxing and good for my mental health. And everything you said about self care.... 😭 SO good! I have been trying to be more intentional about letting myself laugh. I realized that for years I never really laughed. There's a lot of reasons as to why, but one of my goals this year is simply to laugh more. I found some comedy podcasts, I started embracing the silly moments with my kids, and I have been feeling so much better! Your editing is so great too! I love all the added sound effects and music and notes! Also I keep dropping the ball on the book club. I did think that Escape was a book club pick so I think I must have zoned out that it wasn't an official pick. 😂 but I'll hopefully officially join in next month! "Why am I singing Staying Alive?" haha this is so real! I get random songs stuck in my head sometimes. Last night I kept humming Believer by Imagine Dragons at my son's tennis class.
Thank you so SO much Bonnie, this made me cry and cry. I love that you are intentional about laughing more, it breaks my heart to read that you haven't, for your sake and also because I relate. There have definitely been times where I have felt the same and that's just no way to live! Laughing is so great, so simple, and I love that you can share it with your kids. I'm sure they love seeing and hearing their mother laughing as well. Do it for you, and then it's a bonus for them. I often wish I lived somewhere warmer during the winter months (those are NO fun!) but the summertime is kind of unbeatable here. Yes, there are plenty of new people around here lately, so fun! I got a couple of shoutouts on other channels, which helped a lot! 😊 It makes a lot of sense that you focus better with less screen time, it's like you are getting your brain back! I love watching youtube and connecting with everyone, but there definitely has to be a balance. I stay away from the other platforms as much as I can, because I don't feel like they provide me with much. Creating my own videos definitely help as well! Do you feel like that too, since making videos? Thank you for being so sweet about my ridiculous hair haha! 😁 I'm so done with trying or pretending to be perfect, I would rather just be happy! And if you can feel a bit less pressure too, than that's a win-win. 💜 As for the audio, I think the clips in the car were just on a GoPro, so just the built in mic on that 🤷♀ And I will NOT let the wasps win! They can live anywhere else, this place is mine! Although if the nest gets bigger I might call in reinforcements 😂

Makes me feel like I got to do some vacation time in Sweden 🥹 I wanted to do some more outdoor clips but I don't think I'll be doing it during the summer. We're at 90F and UV index of 10 here so I'll probably stay indoor until it gets cooler 😭 I find that YT has given me much more genuine connection than tiktok or instagram tbh. I find that those platforms have the idea of mindless scrolling where YT platform try to engage in longer content like this. So it feels like I have time to just breathe. And I am absolutely falling in love with filming & video editing, I have to be honest 🥰I think it helps me overcome my insecurities, and be better at speaking! Well, your quality for your mic is 💯I mostly film on my phone or a G7X Mark II and I feel like they pick up background noise like they're nosy😂

If it’s picking up a lot of background, it sounds like you might need something more… directed. I don’t know the terminology for that, but it could be worth a try if it’s bothering you!
