I think I figured it out. To have it not just pick the first one, you have to ask it to randomly choose one of the titles for you! And I'm reading Murder in Postscript by Mary Winters.

I couldn't decide how I wanted to do this challenge so I did a few different ways. First, I just said recommend me a book. It said The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. Then I made a list of the books I had on my TBR spin and it chose Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson. Then today I decided to give it the criteria that Storygraph says that I mainly read and kept asking for another recommendation until it gave me one that I hadn't already read. (Dark, emotional, and relective.)That ended up being The Secret History by Donna Tartt. Then I added the Storygraph pacing and page count I gravitate towards (medium paced and 300-499 pages) and that gave me The Thirteenth Tale by Dian Setterfield. Sooooo.... all of that to say... I don't know which book I'm going to choose.

I REALLY struggled to get through American Psycho. Some parts just made me feel like a terrible person for reading it.

I guess with ChatGPT it would be more interesting to mention stuff you like and then it recommending a book, not from your TBR. Just randomly picking one from a list just doesn't give the AI a useful prompt.
