Wow, A Suitable Boy is a chonker 😳. Hope you have a fabulous vacation and looking forward to the reviews of the books you’ll take into June! Thanks for sharing 🙂
Great wrap up! I just read my first Claire Keegan this week called Small Things Like These which I really liked. It was very short as well and she’s definitely an author I would like to try again! I also have Beartown on my shelf to pick up at some point, and I haven’t tried Bachman yet, but have heard great things about his books. The Shakespeare book sounds really good as well! A Suitable Boy is also on my list so I’ll be looking forward to your thoughts on that one once you’re done. I hope you have a great vacation! 📚✨
I want to ready more Thomas Hardy. I might try Desperate Remedies. I have The Dubliners on my bookshelf and I also have a biography called Lilly’s Promise about a survivor of Auschwitz. I know it will be heart wrenching. I am anxious to hear what you think of The Winners. 7:55
I think for his first book Desperate Remedies was very good - I especially loved the first section. Like most classics it was too drawn out at times but interesting story. I didn’t really do a great job explaining the plot I was so caught up in Hardy- ha! It’s really about a girl who came from good stock but on hard times and becomes a ladies maid who is torn between love and marrying the stability she needs and lots of family drama and issues with both. I will film my thoughts on the winners soon- stay tuned. How’s your summer reading going?
@@EntertheBook I’m reading a lot. I’m finishing up Beloved by Toni Morrison for my new classic book club and have nearly a 500 page Jeffrey Deaver mystery to read for my regular book club. I love to read beach and romance books in the summer so want to fit those in. 🤪
