I loved Home is Where the Bodies Are; definitely agree that the cover played a part. I also loved Butcher and Blackbird and was shocked how into it I was!

I just finished Ellie Black and made note of that same quote. Definitely gave Bright Young Women vibes in its messaging. I thought it was a solid read!

Your shadow half remains is based on an AMAZING short story, I don’t know why they’d turn it into a full book that wasn’t even a complete book. It was weird

Sometimes like watching a very Hollywoody movie, we read for just the craziness. Bloom was just that, you knew something was coming, it was only 180.pages! I dont get how people can say slow moving when its that short! Tough crowd.

Love the Thursday Murder Club series on audio! I should start the Return of Ellie Black this week. I'm currently half way through reading Unmissing by Minka Kent, and really engrossed.

Home is where the Bodies are sounds similar to Daisy Darker. I didn't enjoy that one. I DNF'd Butcher And Blackbird. I was pretty far in too. The other book I just got delivered was Thornhedge. Haven't read it yet, but looking forward to it. 😊

I’m sooooo shocked and sad about Funny Story. It was a 5 star for me!! But you know what? Beach Read is my favorite by her so maybe that makes sense why you disliked FS is you also disliked BR.

I was enjoying the majority of Ellie Black. Agreed that the writing was well done and the pacing was good. But it lost me at the end so ended up at 2 stars for me

I hated Funny Story. Thought it was boring. It felt like the MC dealing with her neglectful father, and putting on a Read-A-Thon event at the local library was the majority of the book. Not for me.
