These 2 are AMAZING! I wish there were more scenes with them. I hope the writers don't add any crazy drama with them. It is so refreshing to see two strong women at the top of their fields in a healthy REAL relationship.

I would look at it this way, if the immigration officer didn't really care then he wouldn't have asked for the "unofficial reason" or even ask for details to allow Maya to justify the actions.

Station 19 is ABC Network's highest-rated TV series, having more views than Grey's Anatomy. Now they want to cancel the show and all we have are 10 short episodes to conclude all the character stories. It cannot end like this, we need at least one (full) season more! I'm (not) sorry, but I cackled a little too hard at backstabbing drug addict. Because that's what Sullivan is, right? He stole drugs on multiple occasions and Maya could (and probably should) have fired him, but instead gave him another chance and what does he do? As soon as it looks like her job is in jeopardy instead of using what credibility he had to try and save Maya's job, he tries to steal it because "I was trying to save everyone at the station." No, you weren't, you were just trying to get back your crown because you couldn't stand being bossed around by a woman. And now, he literally thinks he can sleep his way to the top. Hopefully that blows up in his face (especially if Maya follows up on the blackmail). Another note: I think Ross has some internalized misogyny to work out because why is it the drug addict deserves not only sympathy, but a promotion when the woman who defied orders to save a child is kept on the bench because "she needs to learn to take authority more seriously" :/ So it was fine for the drug addict to abuse his authority to feed his addiction but Maya is still being punished for saving a child? And maybe this is just me, but it felt like she was victim-blaming Andy a little and implied that she deserved to go to jail for defending herself. And she still hasn't booted Beckett, or at the very least put him on some type of probation despite the fact that he's obviously a drunk and she's still trying to force Montgomery to move up even though he's made it clear that's not what he wants. It just feels like she's spending too much time pandering to men to try and get them on her side, not realizing that men will always see her as inferior because she's a woman and a woman of color. It also kind of feels like because now she's on top, she feels low-key threatened by another woman having a higher position and saying "because I struggled, now you have to as well" instead of trying to uplift other women in the department. Will it fix the ongoing sexism in the SFD, no, but at the very least, she could not contribute to it.
I am a huge Maya/Carina fan but you are wrong on many points here. Firstly, Sullivan stole the drugs on only one occasion; secondly Maya did not have the authority to fire Sullivan as he outranked her at the time; thirdly, Sullivan did try to stand up for Maya in the meeting with McCallister and only after McCallister started to talk about shutting 19 down did he put himself forward to ‘right the ship’ and finally, if you actually paid attention when he reported Becket to Ross, not once did he put his name forward to take over as captain and he specifically mentioned Maya as a possible - not knowing that Ross had already told Maya she would not be reinstated as Maya didn’t tell anyone at the station.
maya cries sexism and homophobia every time she does wrong. she was demoted cause she was insubordinate to the chief of fd in front of multiple fire companies which is gonna bruise a man’s ego so obviously he demoted her maybe a bit dramatic but rightfully so it’s his decision cause she was textbook insubordinate. he didn’t even know she was gay when he demoted her like what? also Sullivan has no loyalty to maya he gave her the job so why you acting like she did him a huge service for letting him be a probie anyway she had to blackmail the chief for the captains job which is probably gonna be Andy’s to try and get it which shows it’s gonna bite her in the ass and probably demoted further so she can cry something else. anyway let’s backtrack to season 3 when maya broke up with jack and treated him like shit and then went to Sullivan and said jack and Andy are basically incompetent and the job should be hers like what? They were literally arguing in his office on their wedding day. Willful ignorance is truly the biggest cancer in our society.
Well there could be many factors at play but when it comes down to it, he's American. And many Americans, even those who go through racism or know what their parents (or grandparents or great grandparents) had to do to get here still feel entitled and an unjust bias against immigrants. Plus being in that job, he was likely encouraged to believe certain thinking and the last decade or so the laws have slowly started getting even stricter.

I hate saying this but u can usually tell who’s the more dominant one and maya takes lead in their relationship I think that’s what going on here that’s why maya keeps talking for her and I think carina likes that they balance each other out

I get Maya was wrongfully demoted but in my honest opinion she should of never been promoted. Jack or Andy should have been made chief. Andy continuously gets passed up because men who think they know whats best for her. Then they completely took away Jack's ambition like he didn't want Chief the second we met him and he COMPLETELY gets looked over as if he hasn't been waiting the longest. Instead they make him look like a sad sack who can't function without something resembling a family. Jack and Andy deserve so much better, truly not worried about Maya getting a job back that in my opinion she never earned, not to say she didn't do a good job after but Station 19 captain should be Andy or Jack.🤷🏾♀️
Maya is sucks. Ross didnt even start sleeping with sully when she promoted him. And Sully didn't mention to reinstate him as captain when he told ross about beckett. Maya's demotion was reasonable, even if it wasn't understandable. The kid lives, but what if he didn't? It's not a man ego or sexism, homophobia or whatever. The chief was the man with authority over FD. If one undermine his authority in front of others, it will make a bad impression, like "it is ok to undermine, to be insubordinate, to disrespect the chief. imma do that sometime." no matter if the chief is a male, female,trans, black, white, pink, purple or whatever. She needs to respect the chain of command. With this attitude, insubordination, she doesn't deserve to be a captain hell maybe even a lieutenant.
Ross is not professional. Her expressions and actions when Maya threatens to expose them shows it. It’s personal. I’m waiting to see how she’ll treat Andy now that she found out her history with Sullivan. Ross already had history with him. What did Sullivan do to earn that promotion on that very first call? She immediately promoted him based on his past not knowing all the details but only discussed with Travis to see if he was interested. McCallister already told Sullivan he wanted to get rid of Maya cos she openly supported BLM, supported Sullivan and Dean who saved those black girls while the white racist policeman sided with his white racist sex trafficker friend. He didn’t want bad publicity about conflict between FD and PD. He buried her case for more than a year and was outed because he was incompetent. Only to be replaced by another biased, sexist, hypocritical, self-serving female chief who hooked up with her subordinate - the same guy who tried to hide his relationship with his subordinate back then. She didn’t even warrant Maya a proper sit down, after another long wait. Just, your attitude sucks, end of story. Ross only gave the men 2nd chances. Sullivan stole drug, gaslit a probie, threaten Ben, abandoned his post and went into a fire, put his whole team at risk, indirectly causing Pruitt’s death. Then still act like the whole world had wronged him and his ego cannot stand Andy and Maya being his superiors. Maya played by the rules and was unfairly overlooked long enough. Nobody spoke up for her after she supported them except Andy. Ben even asked Maya to forgive Sullivan when Sullivan didn’t even think he was wrong and did not apologise. So Maya is now playing like them, she’s wrong? Ross and Sullivan happily hooked up. Beckett, the incompetent drunk, remained as captain because he knew their secret. So what is the chain of command and what is deserving? Be corrupt together with Dixon like Sullivan did? Join the boys club and keep quiet and get captaincy like Beckett? Ripley would never allow this. Dixon still able to run for mayor after his corruption case. What a joke. What rules? Whose rules?
idk why people feel as if what she's doing is okay. People constantly forget that she just admitted to knowing Beckett was drinking on the job yet she didn't report him??
