she's not making fun of the anthem, or anything it stands for, she's making fun of singers who take their chance to sing it as an opportunity to show off every ridiculous thing their voice can do instead of just singing the song! She was hilarious through her whole speech, so happy we had her!

She did this parody on a SNL skit a long while ago. She's teasing the singers that do all that stupid crap with the song, instead of just singing the song. She is NOT teasing the Anthem. It says this in the description people. Jeez

The US is probably the only nation in the world that seems to enjoy "Interpretation" of it's National Anthem. When Francis Scott Key put his words to an old British drinking song, the tune already came with sheet music complete with a time signature. Why every budding R&b , C&W, R&R, wannabe gets to mess around with it ,is mind-boggling. There are rules that govern how the National Flag is to be treated, could they not extend to proper respect for the Anthem also ? Just O saaaaaaaaaaaaaaayin !

No it is good that we have the freedom to change the anthem. Some might see it as disrespectful but it is a sign of freedom that we can say/sing these things. If someone did thing in say Russia they would be killed on the spot. It is amazing that we can do this in America and it makes me proud of this country and he comedy skills.

The National Anthem is a poem written during a war (that essentially glorifies war) that was set to the tune of an old British drinking song ("To Anacreon In Heaven"). Though it was clearly not her intent to mock the National Anthem itself....so what if it was. I mean, as national anthems go, it's not like ours if of sacred origins or anything....far from it actually.
