It's been a minute. I'm sure some of you are wondering where I've been off to. Well, it's time for an update! Thanks for watching. Please subscribe if you haven't already!
Hi Tommy, I am still watching from the wings , glad to hear that you're listening to your head and made the most positive decision no amount of money or trucks are of any use if you're struggling to live you're life. Good luck for the future mate none of the 2 of us are getting any younger you have a lovely family around you enjoy you're time with them. Best wishes .Bill .🏴
Hey bill. Thanks for reaching out. Spoken to Libby a few times and wondered how you were doing. Great to hear from you. Hope you are living the dream. Really good to hear from you. Thanks for the confirmation that the better decision has been made. 👍👍
Glad to see you back in the USA. Hope you enjoyed your time in Scotland. Just noticed you need a couple of hood mirror glasses. Had the same issue with my 17 Cascadia. Seems over time the adhesive let's go and some day you look the mirror glass is gone. Lost both mine over a short period. Like those new Mac trailers. Very tidy bit of kit
@@garymckee9538 thanks Gary. The Macs are very nice. Scotland was great. I’ve always good to get home. Yeah those mirrors seem to fall off. That’s not the first two we have lost.. Better get them replaced when it gets home. That one also needs a new bumper now. It hit a deer in Texas yesterday morning and crushed the transmission oil cooler. Two grand later and it is back on the road. We will do the cosmetic stuff when it gets home. Happy days. I am settling enjoying having a lot of trucks that’s for sure. Stay lucky, sir.
19 30 pm Good to see you managed a trip to Scotland.I live in Inverness and we have plenty rain here.Must be tough leaving Prestwick to return to U S A.
It is for sure. There’s always the next time though. Got a few friends that run through Inverness driving tour coaches every week. The only thing that puts me off Inverness is the bloody A9. Seemed that last time I was on it there were more speed cameras than ever before. Used to love driving a coach on a 4 day tour to strathpeffer.
Well done tommy, cut back that's OK.as long as your not stressed out why not employ an ex transport manager.who mite want back in..best of luck pal.keep the chin up you'll be fine.
Well spotted. They are a noticeable truck on the road in these parts. We have had good luck with them. Do you pull reefer for Andrus. I don’t see as many 4 axle flatbeds being dragged around by Andrus these days. Maybe I just don’t notice them. Successful company for sure. Kill packs do well too.
Yup! I’m on the reefer side. I’ve had the best luck with these Freightliners. I’ve also driven a Peterbilt 579 and Kenworth T680. I know we still have a couple of the 4 axle flatbeds, but I don’t think we have as many now as we used to.
@@samdillsaver7676 had a few 579 Pete’s with paccar motors and had terrible luck with them. Got one t680 but the cascadia fuel consumption is just too good to not run. From a driver point of view the engine brakes on the freightliner are superb.
Always apportioned. Base plates are in Idaho now. They were in Utah. Not a simple process getting registrations at times. Best of luck to you. What you going to pull.
@SCOTTISHTRUCKERTOMMY just got my authority probably amazon for the first year. The maybe reefer or dry van. 60 years old don't want to tarp and climb around on the load.
Presume those are ex Doug Andrus trucks by the colors. Do you buy them from their used division DADS Are they good well maintained fleet trucks. Been looking online and they have some decent spec d trucks for sale 21 and 22 s. Kinda considering buying another one. Mines a 17 Cascadia Glider with 865 000 miles on it. Been thinking with decent used prices right now may consider buying a good used one and keeping this 17 as a good spare until I see how the other works out. Mines pre emissions series 60 Detroit so always have that concern that an emissions truck may not work out. But seems like better fuel mileage than the Glider so may off set some of the cost
The fuel will be better. It’s the technology that is hard to beat. The same technology brings along the emissions. We have had good luck with them. Some of the red lower mileage trucks are cedar point trucks. I would buy those Andrus trucks from Doug at premier truck group. He is just fantastic to deal with. Been doing it a long time. If you buy from them you can put a Detroit warranty on the truck engine till 750000 miles. Most transmissions and rear ends are warranty covered till the same. It’s definitely a buyers market.
@@conwayconway2177 quite similar in most things. Because the us was settled by a lot of uk folks. A lot of the laws are similar. In trucking the rules are way more strict in the uk. Driving and safety and speed limiters etc.
