Steve, I think it would be interesting to do a deep dive on the origins of all these Chinese e-bikes...similar to how you look into aptera suppliers....I suspect there is probably one or two factories in China pumping out all of these bikes.
FulCare sounds like a cheesy, made up name from a Chinese company. Fu-car-e' sounds Italian, and cooler (even though it is still likely all Chinese). The beefy frame and solid welds look cool, and the extra power/speed is appealing. Especially with the dual-motor model. I did wish it was folding, but you can't have everything. The UL certification on the LG battery pack is good to know about. You did make me look at their website.
I didn't hear you mention in the video, what do you think the quality of the battery is? Is it CE rated or anything like that? I know that there have been a (not necessarily large, but) significant number of e-bike batteries that have burned up and this is one of the concerns that I have when looking at e-bikes.
I'm really glad to address your concerns about battery safety! You can rest assured that our Scorpio model has UL certification, and we use well-known LG batteries. Our name signifies comprehensive care, so we definitely don’t compromise on safety. If you’re looking for a safe e-bike, you can confidently choose us. Thank you!
A great deal of attention is being paid to battery fires caused by ebikes. In New York some apartment owners are disallowing ebikes to be brought inside or parked within garages. I've read that NYC is implementing UL battery standards in sales of ebikes. It would be a good review feature to discuss regarding ebikes. Is the battery UL approved. Also what is the guarantee like? Push bikes have far fewer things to go wrong than an ebike, so how long is the frame and stem guaranteed for and how long is the electrical system guaranteed for?
I'm glad to address your questions! You can rest assured that our batteries have UL certification, and we use well-known LG batteries. As soon as the UL certification policy was introduced, we promptly took action to get certified, all to ensure our customers have the safest protection. We offer a one-year warranty, and any issues you mentioned are covered under this warranty. If it’s a quality problem, we’ll definitely take care of it. You can buy with confidence!
yes, the gearing is such that you'd have to pedal at a ridiculous cadence to actually exert any force on the chain when the motor is pushing at 30mph. They need to gear all these ebikes higher.
You would have to buy it with your own money but I'm very curious to see you review the Azub Origami. If you got one with a Rohloff hub and Bufang ultra that would be extra cool.
