Thanks, Tom. Fascinating education on your work. I think I would agree with your assessment on the impact of the 60’s on vision for our infrastructure etc. That custombilt is a gnarly beauty! Pipes enhance so many aspects of our lives- wish I could partake during work! Have a good weekend.
Tom, I believe you are a true philosopher. I have always appreciated your balanced attitude. I’m sure we don’t agree on everything, but I’m sure we could sit together and have a most agreeable conversation over a pipe. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us again!
Enjoyed the video and discussion as usual Tom. Great stuff! Looks like a beautiful spot to enjoy a bowl and do a little work. Could not agree more with you about planning. Boeing is in a real mess, but I find the whole thing fascinating (in an odd way) Heading to Vancouver on Monday for a couple days, will be cool knowing I am just up the shore from you. Regards Mark
Nice to see you Tom, lots of food for thought. Never tried the McClelland tobacco but only heard good things, too bad they closed shop. Smoking along with some navy rolls in an old old peterson, the homonculus variety but I like them. All the best
One of the biggest mistakes companies make is they shed their older staff leaving the newer younger staff devoid of experience that is invaluable and integral to efficiency and competitiveness crucial to organisational survival. I guess they will learn the hard way, from experience!
Tom, that Grand Oriental line was incredibly great stuff, especially the Yenedje, I will bet it would be a big hit at the club if you happened to show up with an open tin (hint, hint), Very few blenders have the expertise and passion of Mike McNiel, it is a shame he walked away when he did but his reasons for doing so were valid, his "master plan" was taken away from him by forces beyond his control. Keep puffin.
My question has been for sometime- “How does one know that they have enough information to make an informed decision, and how does one also know that the information they have is legitimate and trustworthy enough to make a truly I formed decision?”
We live in a reality of hierarchical and competing "ends." We all need lesser ends, and an ultimate end in mind, otherwise we are like archers without targets.
Sometimes plans don't align with agenda and they get dropped like they're hot! Incompetence seems to be in demand these days, in every manufacturing facility I've been in it's been promoted....
I am curious...you seem more like a wooden-match type guy than a lighter guy; just wondering if ...you might discuss this? :) I am a wooden-match person, but i do have pipe-specific lighters...but on the whole, given the choice...wooden matches are my go-to. Just wondering if you have an opinion on this. :) Good video, thank you!
Hey Tom, just curious if you have any follow-up on the elderly woman that was hit by the car? That story has kind of stuck with me... Just curious if you've heard anything.
@@ajcrowley7170 We all thought she was a goner, and they airlifted her from our local hospital to Harbor view, the Seattle trauma center. Turns out she was bruised and banged up, but just a dislocated shoulder. Amazing! But good -Tom
