Bio: Leonardo Torres was raised Catholic and left the church after being threatened to be kicked out for asking questions about the bible concerning his grandfather's death. He identified as an Atheist for 12 years and spent that time actively arguing with anyone who brought up religion. At age 30, he had a strong encounter with God that made him drop his Atheist title and became a free follower of GOD who he calls, "The Great Spirit". Taking God seriously and following Him wherever He leads him, Leonardo was led to start this RU-vid Channel, reacting to music as a "Non-Christian" musician reviewing Christian music. Through the music and the stories he began to learn more about Christ and considers himself a Student of Christ. Having been lost and now found, this channel is like a lost and found for lost sheep, Leonardo's goal is to create a safe space where God can find those who are yearning for Him.
Leonardo wants to remind followers of Christ to love one another as they were commanded. He is a man on a mission to spread the love of God to everyone that comes to this channel. Thanks,Leonardo for seeing the talent that Home Free brings to the table each and every time. Rob has such a sweet light tenor,but to see another side of his vocal ability, I would love to see you watch Nessun Dorma that he and Austin did on Austin's channel. You will be amazed at the talent the individuals in this group have. And despite the immense talent,there are no egos in play. That's one reason they have such loyal fans. Their music just makes you feel good.

Your comments made me able to finally define one of the things that puts Home Free at the top of the list for me. They have amazing vocal talents but they don’t do vocal gymnastics just for attention. Each is a part of a whole. Now you’re ready to react to Tim’s solo stuff, particularly Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay from his doo-wop album. Tim, Austin, and Chance have their own channels where they do solo stuff and collaborate with other musicians. Austin and Tim also have a side project called Sweet + Low where they regularly join in with a core set of very talented musicians plus various “guests.” They are acquiring lots of Sweet Peas and Low Lifes while we get to watch them jam.

This song is one of my favorites. So glad you waited to react to it. Your surprise at hearing the switch ups in the voices was great. Tim can sing in a beautiful higher tenor voice along with Austin & Rob. And Chance can hit the lower bass notes when needed. And Adam did a fabulous job as always with his vocal percussion. This song is sung by a woman Cam, so they sung it in a higher key to match the original.

I do appreciate your stopping at the juicy parts to replay and savor the sumptuous goodness they bring to the song. Sometimes even though I hear the beautiful parts, it goes right on to the next nugget of goodness and I miss the mastery they display in the seamless blending that is part of the Home Free alchemy. Time for some Chance leads. “I Can’t Outrun You”-5 part harmony,Chance directed the video, and it’s hauntingly beautiful. “Cover Me Up “, gorgeous harmonies and beautifully subtle percussion by Adam. “Some Girls Do”, “Born in the USA”; Chance also plays guitar on this. “Workin’ for a Livin’”, a fun rendition the Huey Lewis and the News song.

One of the reasons that Home Fries say not to listen to this until you have become accustomed to who they are and what they do is that this messes with your mind and sense of normalcy. They take all of the expectations and turn them inside out and upside down.

Home Frees' musical intuitions are spot on every time. There are no egos in the group and in my opinion that's why they create such awesome music. Showing off for the sake of showing off just isn't a thing with them. They serve the music instead of trying to make the music serve them. All of them are multi talented and skilled. Go back and watch Adam. Many people miss it but what sounds like claps is him! Earlier in the video, the clap sounds you hear (when no one is clapping) you can see Adam do his gesture at that exact moment. So...yeah, he can replicate claps as well! LOL The talent is insane.

This is the song with surprises. It's incredible. All the switches they do is amazing. Super sung. The really great,but inhuman Adam. Tim's tenor, Chance's deep bass. And Rob and Austin taking a different pitch too. Home Free is THE group for me. They are so great, but still keep their own identity. No egos.

Obviously you didn't know that Chance is actually a bass. His group before he came to Home Free was called Street Corner Symphony and Chance was the bass. Infact his group was one season 2 of The Sing Off and they got second. Truly enjoyed watching your reaction to this song.

Tim was the tenor for one of his previous vocal groups. Chance was the bass for his previous vocal group, but chance can do tenor as well, although he usually sings baritone for Home Free. Chance can do some excellent instrument sounds too. Check out Can't Stop the Feeling in which they do an instrumental interlude.

The fact that Home Free has basically two of every thing allows them to do things that none of the other groups can. That and the fact that they all have such huge ranges just makes them unbeatable in my book. Even Rupp can sing amazingly if you can just get him to do it. LOL

This reminds me of TIm in concert. Getting in the tenor's upper ranges. Going so high octave that the rest of the group just stop. Then they stop Tim as he hits those high notes. They all point to the floor saying "There." Tim hits one of the lowest notes I have ever heard all the out to G1.

I’m sorry, that’s my style. If I stop it, it’s a good thing. It means I am liking it and it has something in it that is worth mentioning. When I listen to a song all the way through without pausing, it’s more than likely… a plain song with nothing to offer but the minimum requirement to be called a song.

You should try another acapella group, Petatonix. Pentatonix sings more pop songs. They have won grammys and even now have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame! Start with The Sound of Silence, The Prayer, Hallelujah, Daft Punk medley, Bohemian Rhapsody, Amazing Grace, and Shallow. When you watch these, be aware that the person who sings Bass has changed. In the older videos, Avi sings bass. He left in 2017 and now Matt sings bass. That is the only change. The other singers change their hair color and stuff, but it's the same group!

Great comments! Love the Jacky Chan comparison. They are ABSOLUTELY the David Copperfield of vocal magicians. Chance’s velvet, (wrap me up in flannel) tone is beautiful. So glad he is being used more in a front position. He is the Jews harp sound, prominent at the beginning and end of “Man of Constant Sorrow “, using his overtone (Mongolian throat singing) skill. His #2 bass, and mid-ranges really fill in the foundation for the magic. Check out “One Man Band”. To see Chance kick it off. (Really great video set, and camera work, as well). None of these guys are of this earth.

Oh my goodness - The Jackie Chan of a cappella! 😂 That was brilliant! Great visual and succinct explanation. Tim’s tenor is beautiful. This was sung in the same key the original singer, Cam, a soprano, sang in. Chance was the bass for his last group. The change-ups is one reason Home Fries recommend waiting until reactors know their “usual” roles. All of these guys are incredibly versatile.

Other than their amazing talent, I'm extremely impressed with their arrangements. Many of them are done by Darren Rust and they have probably all done arrangements and videos. I know my favorites were Chance's Helplessly Hoping and Adam's Do You Hear What I Hear...they were awesome.

Just stumbled upon your reaction channel. I am loving your analysis of each voice especially your description of what they do as "the Jackie Chan of Acapella". That describes perfectly their amazing abilities. I love Jackie Chan and his innovative martial art styling, yet he is not untrained and disciplined....neither is Home Free. Each member is a master on his own, yet work seamlessly together amplifying each other's gifts in beautiful renderings. Sigh. Yes, the video is too short, but fortunately there are plenty of others to scratch that Home Fry-itch. You are the first reactor I have subscribed to that I did not hesitate or double think my decision. Not only that, but I intend to hit replay as soon as I finish these comments, which is a first. I hope to hear many more reactions of Home Free, Voice Play, The Bass Gang and the solo artists from each group. It is looking to be a long, enjoyable season. Btw, Acapella is my primary interest, but I am also quite fond of 2 Cellos (though they have gone separate paths currently), Marcin Patrzalek (guitar phenom), The Hu (Mongolian Rock Metal band, truly astonishing and unique), Jonathan Young, Peter Hollens, The Hound and the Fox, Avi Kaplan (formerly bass for PTX)....any of these individuals music is not to be missed. Some are up-and-coming, others well established, but seldom lauded as they should be. I will be checking out your playlist to see what interests you, and hope to hear more from you soon. Thank you. Love this one, song is a bop (with sad subject matter), the swelling harmonies, Adam masterful as always - but mostly, the decision to sing it in the same key as Cam's original was just brilliant. Aside from the fun of Tim and Chance flexing, just an overall lovely cover.

Love seeing you appreciate this amazing group. Couple that I don't think you have gotten to that you will like. One Man Band and Blue Ain't Your Color Chance gets a turn in both and you will see dance moves OLE!. Also for a equal or better arramgnnt to Mayday try Do You Hear What I Hear.
