JAKE IS A GREAT SINGER ALSO!! ALL YOU HATERS SHOULD BE GLAD THAT MAYDAY PARADE GOT JAKE TO TAKE JASON'S PLACE INSTEAD OF SPLITTING UP COMPLETELY!! All of there songs are great!! I WILL ALWAYS SUPPORT U mayday parade!
i freaking love this song!!! i am trying to learn how to play it on the guitar but i could never compare to them! i freaking LOVE THEM!!!!!!!!!! Mayday was the reason y i wanted to play the guitar!
I'm absolutely in love with this song..its played at least 3 times a day =P I dont know the names either..so a little help =] It reminds me so much of my ex...i love you
I personally think jake just smiles so he isnt flat. and it comes off looking very cocky. but either way i miss jason. but Jake is very good fill in. Lastly Brooks never changes how he plays this song. i love it. Its solid.
would LOVE to see them do this song again now. they've all improved soo much (especially jake) and this is my all-time favorite song. it would be even better.
This is Jake's pride and joy lol! My favorite as well! My sister's was always "Your Song", I love the mention of Galley Alley. It's a true magical place lol, but very illegal! My sister also went to school with some of them, when they were in Defining Moment, at Lincoln High. Where they won Battle Of The Bands, she was so proud! They were seniors when she was a freshman or sophomore, so they never interacted much tho.
I think you where looking for atreyu? The drummer doesnt sing in Avenged Sevenfold. its also like that in underoath, aaron does vocals (drummer) and spencer is the screamer.
@ImNotYodaOkeyImYoda Well,in my knowledge, jason sings on all of the songs up until mayday's latest album,Anywhere But Here. after he left jake bundrick took his spot doing some of the vocals with derek.
@xxxstilnluvxxxnot In "Punk Goes Acoustic Vol. 2" Jason sings in it. And I must say, the last 50 seconds give me an eargasm. Jason's voice paired with Derek's... Holy shit.
people also say he's the nicest guy in the world.. if he was ass-y, its because he probably wasnt happy in Mayday Parade. but he's doing his thangg in Go Radio.. (new music soon)
@BrandonnnTylerrr yeah he should :) i dont think he has either haha but i feel like if he did it would make mayday sound a little more how they used to with the double vocals.. even though it wont have the same amazing lyrics jason wrote
idk why everyone is having what is basically a battle about the band being different and i dont wanna know but its a good song, and honestly i think they are better recorded than live, but still really good live. this is my opinion so dont hate.
they may credit jake for singing but he doesnt. jason left the band after they finished recording the album. if you wanted a song is about him leaving. jake did not sing at all on a lesson in romantics. jason sang in the acoustic three years, you can tell by the voice. they cited him as a guest vocalist even though he was a "lead singer" along with derek. jake may have written this song, but jason sang it. jake did not sing in alir. he will even tell you so, he has known jason forever...
that is incorrect. jake barely ever sings. he had a few lines on the new album. jason lancaster and derek sanders used to share lead vocals. but jason left in april 07 because he felt unwelcome in the band. both bands are amazing, but i think what they had in the original lineup of mayday was special.
I don't think he sounds auto-tuned at all.... usually with auto-tune, you can hear the slightest bit of the overlap in voices, but you don't hear anything here. what about the shirt? I was commenting to someone else....
his pitch is fine in the other video as well. I seriously just don't see this being auto-tuned, especially since derek isn't flat or sharp in between notes either. a lot of people aren't.
@granbergexperiment09 im aware, but im just saying that if you use to like mayday parade, and then hated them just because he left,go listen to go radio.
it really is such a shame that jason is no longer in the band. i do look forward to songs written for jake and jeremy to sing though. it would be cool if they had all sang on a song.
@sFPyrox As I said, "I'm sure they don't really need that." I know he's a great singer and that's why I think it's stupid to autotune his mic...which I can hear clearly....It's actually pretty heavy like how do you not hear it?
Lol, my comment was from like a year ago. But anyway, I'm not that big of a fan of Mayday Parade so I didn't say what I said because I love them. I do like this song tho. I listened again and am still not convinced it's autotune. I'm a musician and I sing live all the time, w/ the right mic and good sound system it can work wonders and sometimes sound a tad bit "artificial" where it really enhances the voice. Not exactly autotune tho. But sure, they're using great sound equipment and it helps.
See what mainstream does? You're fucking crazy to think that this is autotune. Alot of people have used auto tune and fucked up a good Mayday song. Not hating on you, but it's a real harmony. But yeah, *insert 15 year old badass using the word 'twat' making a point that does nothing but make them look stupid* Who cares if thousands of people you don't know like, or dislike your comment? I type a comment to make a point, not to get attention. I'm 18, my guitar is my life, always respond to it.
@Ronaldorulz17 if there were auto tune when he he sings "I can't forget you,i know you want me to want you, I want to" at the end it wouldn't sound like that, it would be at a perfect pitch, it's not, in fact it's a tad bit flat. but of course everyone has a raw moment here and there. it just shows they are human. they just have good control over their voice, you're hearing the runs that they are singing. I'm sure that's what you're calling autotune. it's not autotune home boy.
@TimeaMascakova looks like you got the good ear in the family bub. It's not even like I'm saying anything against mayday I fucking love them thats why I'm so surprised that they autotuned Jakes mic seriously, dude just listen WHEN HE SINGS ALONE. Trust me, I know what a harmony is and I have specified that I'm talking about his solo singing so open up your minds and stop thinking that just because you like the band they'll never use vocal aids. I'm sure it was the sound guy's decision anyway.
@Ronaldorulz17 I've listened to a few times now, listening for auto-tune. There are a couple things that sound unusual, but I think it's just the way it was recorded. I feel like if they actually used auto-tune that they would have made themselves sound better than they did. I'm also a recording artist and have worked with a relative who is a producer. I just really don't hear auto-tune in this recording. I'm not really trying to argue or say you're wrong. I'm just going off what I hear.
@relientofleeland41 Trust me, dude I know the difference between harmony and auto-tune. Its like a pet peeve of mine when people mistake harmony for auto-tune. But I know auto-tune when I hear it. I'm a trained vocalist and a recording artist and trust me, there is definitely auto-tune there. It isn't always drowning the singer's voice when it's used. If the sound guys good at what they do they can hide it pretty well, which is what they are doing. Seriously, dude, listen closely.
@Ronaldorulz17 that's not auto-tune lol. Pop music has brainwashed everyone to think that when they hear a harmony that it's autotune. But real bands like Mayday Parade actually just have 2 people singing at once which is called harmony...not autotune haha. And the lead singer also uses some vocal expression when he sings which pop listeners confuse with autotune as well, but he's actually just a good singer
Can i just say that i love Mayday parade & go radio equally without the bashing? Its obvious that Mayday parade still supports Jason Lancaster. Jake does sound different from Jason, but Mayday Parade chose him not your opinions. And for Jason he's happy starting his own band. I saw him live with Go radio and they seem good He's written most of the Mayday Parade songs so if it weren't for him you wouldn't have some songs you love now. So both are equal. Your opinion is your own, i'm just saying.
they are both good at singing but i like the back up vocals better cuz the lead has the more of the story and the back up has the emotion all together its the story and emotion that eqaul this song it would just sound weird without one or the other its like reading a story with out words or a point its the emotion of one person split into 2 parts the story and emotion
@legacymember7 yeah i know im gonna get alot of shit for this but i actually like jakes voice better. either way though jason was what made mayday parade what it is and it shows now that they arent as good without him. so in no way am i saying that i like jake better.
I'm sick of the fact that EVERY Mayday Parade video there are talking about "Jason is better than Jake". First of all I think they are equally amazing. Secondly Jason left the band at the beginning of 2007. I think we need to get over it, and give Jake some fucking credit
Wait wait.. 1) What songs did they do with Jason? So I can hear this supposedly wonderful voice. 2) Jake is the drummer and Jeremy the bassist? If so, Jake does sing better than Jeremy why does he not sing it instead? He can't live obviously.. But can acousticly.. Confused. 3 J names..
Whoever thinks this is autotuned has no fucking idea of how autotune works. It would sounds waaay much more robotic. Auto tune pretty much turns your voice into a piano. It turns every word you say into a note. A perfectly sung note. It's really easy to tell when a voice is autotuned. This is NOTHING close to an autotuned voice. It's plain fucking talent.
no. this is autotune. i can hear the difference. its harmony as well but thats not the part that sounds like autotune. if they weren't going to autotune it they would probably use large diaphragm condensors instead of dynamic mics for their vocals
im not trying to be a cynic, i really love this band, but am I the only one who feels like jake gets a huge ego boost from singing for them now? he's actually solid vocalist, but sometimes it seems like hes got a cocky look on his face. idk
@Aimazzingg Like the difference between Jason and Jake is the vocal style. Jason's is higher but rougher. Jake's is not as high and softer. They're both great singers but I would rather listen to Jason truthfully
First, I said Jake. second, this wasn't on an album. they lightly auto-tuned Jake's voice for effect in this specific set. i can tell. i'm in a music production class. i'm done arguing about this. i don't care what you think
i hate the fatish white shirt dude. hes gota good voice. but i think he sounds better in the actuall recording. it doesnt even sound sound like the same person
@Ronaldorulz17 see, its not autotune. they have vocal expressions and harmonys put togeter and that makes it sound great. if i wanted to i could get together with one of m friends and sing this to prove it
haha ok. i feel like it's auto-tuned at least a little bit, but i don't want to argue too much. btw, this is extremely off topic, but i watched one of your videos and you have really pretty eyes
You can tell cause when he goes from note to note there's nothing flat or sharp in between them. There's definitely something there. its just sort of light sorry i read your other comment wrong.
Auto tune isn't just the t pain shit you hear. It's also used for pitch correction which all bands use in the studio. But no there is not any in this as its a live performance, but even bands with a very good singer like this use auto tune in the studio. They just dont go all t pain with it, it is only used for small pitch correction lol =]
