It's no competition, it's about having them BOTH in Mayday, they're an excellent writing duo, one without the other just doesn't work as well. I hope this isn't a looks thing, this is music
When they were on tour with ATL, I had the privilege to hear some new tracks off of the album. There's alot less Cabbage, but Jake does a really good job throughout the album. It's got the same "Mayday Parade feel", but there's less of the three guitars, and more Derek.
For context: Derek got a black eye and a concussion on the first night of this tour, so that may be why he sounded so off this night. Plus Jason is just AWESOME!!
yes, jason. that is what had me confused. then i remembered they played one song off a lesson in romantics every date of the tour. the video looks fantastic! thank you for posting this.
this is so awsome that u caught this in film this was their last tour with jason did u tape anymore songs because there are not many with jason in them it pisses me off alot of people dont even know who he is when he wrote every song
word. I'm planning on getting Maydays new album and Go Radio's new EP.. the studio updates looked promising. it'll probably end up being release around the same day.
Mayday Parade with Jason Lancaster was a unique and amazing musical experience, but I think we can all admit at this point that Mayday Parade has found their footing without him and both them and Go Radio are good bands.
@xpunkcutie21x its their dynamics together that made them both amazing, mayday just lakes that toughness i used to hear from them, still a great band though
@DNDelli i'll agree, don't get me wrong i still love Mayday Parade, Jason or not, but Goodnight Moon :D omg, incredible song lol i dunno if this is gonna sound odd but i think Jason is to Mayday, what John Nolan is to TBS no matter what any of them do while separate they'll always be compared to when they were together if you get me, its kinda sad now that i think of it
@ryano817 haha same, its strange that a couple of days after i posted that i found out John and Shaun had rejoined TBS, seems anythings possible nowadays lol, wonder if theres hope for Jason rejoining Mayday, saying that though, if he did, we wouldn't have Go Radio :/
i heard they were like begging jason to write it for them or something like that and he was like i will for 50000 dollars and they couldnt afford it im not gonna lie i doubt its gonna be nearly as good without jason
@DNDelli i agree 100% goodnight moon blows away anything on the new mayday album, which kinda sucks bc i do love mayday, but go radio is just more talented lyrically, guess it goes to show where mayday's talent was with writing
@kokomoo123 i don't think Derek blows, tbh i think he's pretty good, i think its just that very few vocalists in pop/punk nowadays can really compare to Jason, he has a very unique voice and his vocal range and power are amazing. Most other vocalists just pale in comparison to him imo

i hate the fact that jason wrote all of their songs, and he is the one who has an actually good live voice (though dereks isnt too bad here, but you can tell when he cant hit a high note bc he pulls the mic away from his face) and he left becasue he got no credit. not a single bio from mayday parade mentions that jason landcaster wrote almost all of their songs from a lesson in romantics. But Go Radio (jason lancasters band) just signed with fearless records recently, so we'll see them soon :D

Well this was 1 year ago boiii. Jason sings better :) Well sure Derek doesn't have a big vocal range like Jason. But Jake does and he hits them. I would guess that it's the drumming affecting him :)
i used to be an advocate of mayday parade without jason still being just as good. false statement. jason lancaster was what made mayday parade what they were. they are still good, but they lost that spark they used to have. go listen to goodnight moon by go radio and you will agree with me.
well jason left, and franky cabbage isn't good at singing his parts. plus with jason derek never really jumped around as much as he does now, so he is always out of breathe. they still are pretty good live.
Jake and Jason sound the same. So why is everyone saying Mayday are shit without Jason. And I'm not saying that Jason isn't good, he's great and all. But its not a massive loss to Mayday Parade, like as if they've really gone down hill.
I'm sorry but you are incredibly misinformed. Do some research before you make ridiculous statements like that. There are multiple statements from Jason, Go Radio, and even members of Mayday Parade that confirmed Jason wrote everything.
