Smooth Soul Jazz Diva & Incognito Lead Singer Maysa Leak. I LOVE!!! this rendition of the classic "What Are You Doing The Rest Of Your Life", from her latest offering "A Woman In Love".
Over the years, this song has been sped up, slowed down. jazzed up, blues down, latinized, personalized and instrumentalized,...but it's never, ever, gotten any better than this rendition right here.
About 8 years ago I was searching for the best version of this amazing Michelle Legrand tune - I found this and have been hooked on Maysa since - keep singing please
This song captured everything that I felt for my husband before we got married on 6.28.13. I cried so hard when I first heard it. We had our first dance off of this. I cry every time I hear it. True heart felt words. Just timeless.
a beautiful interpretation of a great song. Her phrasing and soulfulness brings a lovely new feeling to a classic. The horns and arrangement are wonderful.....
This song is so deep, and touches my soul. It’s almost too hard to listen to. Brought tears to my eyes thinking about someone who I have an amazing love with, but timing has never allowed us to find our way back to each other completely, but the love will forever stay constant and true!! ❤️❤️🔥🔥
Maysas voice is therapeutic to the soul, sensual ballads that arouse the senses, and if alone.....when you hear the passion in her vocal chords you begin to wonder back to those romantic moments that kept you smiling......bravo, you are definitely in my library as one of the best divas who knows how to lure the audience! Keep rocking that mic with your swag.......salute!
i was asked to learn this song for a gig...searched many different versions from the greats and kept coming back to this one....absolutely beautiful, hats off to you, young woman!
Lady Maysa; you are a precious 'gift' to the world. I have listened to this magnificent work of art; over and over again. You have such a unique sound emanating from the depths of your soul. Talented, beautiful woman....you are truly 'blessed'! I am looking forward to enjoying a 'live' performance of your gifts when you come to New York.
Cant believe i just discovered tgis song TODAY..!!! Usually i wouldve heard oldies this good from my dad or mom from backnin the day.... It's now one of my fave love songs of all time....
I love to listen to her sing, no matter whom she is singing with or by herself. She is nice to listen to when you want to hear jazz music. Also just love to hear her voice, cause it so much melody and soft and so nice to hear daily , even when cooking or relaxing
I don't generally like covers, and since the standard was set by Streisand, I thought it was virtually impossible to improve on. I stand HUGELY corrected, Maysa (one of the most gifted artists ever) totally blew the doors off. Love this song and Maysa's version is my favorite now and forever!
you should hear the French composer who wrote it, Michel Legrand, sing it while playing it on his superb piano. Streisand doesn't hold a candle to Legrand. ; ) just my 2 .. he's an incredible songwriter for these romantically haunting songs. Maysa kills it.
woww!! this rendition takes it away from those boring and dragging versions... really, it is the soulful delivery and orchestration that draws the line from other interpretations. congratz
I just listened to Barbara, Sinatra, Maysa, Nancy Wilson and Amber. Honestly, Amber's was the most "not trying too hard" and as simple and beautiful as this complex and beautiful song can be sung. Amber is a savant. She's this very young woman, who can sing as though she's experienced all that life brings. It's just a gift for feeling. And she has it. Unadorned and perfect.
I REALLY LOVE THE WAY BARBARA STREISANDS SINGS THIS SONG! (HUGE FAN OF HERS) THIS IS ONE OF MY ALL TIME CLASSIC FAVORITE SONGS. MAYSA JUST PUTS THAT "STANK" ON IT & I DO MEAN " SWEET AROMA"... ULTIMATE MELLOW SOUNDS OF JAZZ! THANK YOU MAYSA, BEAUTIFUL SISTA........
