My grandma had a washer very similar to this washer and it was a good washer too. The reason I say this is because the transmission died. It wouldn't agitate the clothes or spin. It would only spin on delicate cycle. It would agitate too but after awhile the transmission finally died. That was a good washer too!
One of the reasons why I love Maytags is because they do the spin drain. Also, a Maytag is one hell of a washing machine. They last a lifetime while machine built today only last about 1-5 years, at the most.
This Maytag Legacy Series washing machine and matching dryer were actually manufactured around 2005 to be exact. The Maytag Atlantis washing machines and dryer with darker stainless steel design knobs, white option switches and design panel and similar features like Finger Faucet, Extended Tumble were manufactured around early 2002. Those were the last of the series. Finger Faucet feature is for pretreating tough soil like debris, stains by spraying water without operation.
I had a Maytag make that same noise. It needed a new tub bearing and seal. The seal started leaking just enough to rust out the bearing. It's kind of an extensive job but it was fun for me then. Also, your timer motor may be on it's way out. It's moving much too slow.
Hays Coleman not necessarily. I'm sure if a particular washer has a spin drain I'm sure the pump for said machine can handle the pressure of a spin drain .
:38 the machine buzzes because just before the sapin cycle it turns off the water valve but its old so it buzzes as if it isnt hooked up to the water valves
oh no, you have no idea what you bought, thats a Searcy Arkansas (SAV) Maytag/Amana washer, the tub seals go in them about every 5 years and it will also ruin the spin bearing and you bought it used, get it out of your house as fast as you can! they are junk and i would be surprised if the tub seal hasn't gone out of it yet.
Maytags are PLAINLY CRAP NOW rust buckets and design changes have RUINED FUNCTIONALITY. DEXTER OR SPEED QUEEN ARE MY CHOICES FROM NOW ON BYE BYE MAYTAG.
This particular washing machine by Amana so yes it looks similar to a speed Queen but it is a Maytag. But back then it used to be Maytag and Amana in the same company they emerged but however Amana originally was from alliance which was related to a speed Queen but the company name Amana is a sister to a speed Queen but now Maytag and Amana are both out of business because of whirlpool had bought them out.
