Thanks for sharing. I have an old Maytag which developed a symptom where the drive belt creeps forward on the drive pulley until it either wears grooves into the back of the tub enclosure or falls off the pulley altogether. I have replaced belt and pulley, but the symptom persists. Is this anything you have seen?

Dealing with this issue, too. Wondering if the motor isolator bushings may be throwing off belt tracking alignment, even though I can’t feel any play at the driver shaft. Did you find any solution?

@@aneroid18 in my case, no. I have been patching and fixing this machine for years, but this time I decided to cut my losses and invest in new. It was a sad day to see her get taken out to pasture, but she was at least 20 years old, so definitely gave us our money’s worth.

Thanks for the reply! Going on 13 years, here, on the commercial coin-op model after several previous repairs, including the bearings and belt I just did. Going to try to align the motor, but looks like a somewhat common problem. I’ve got mixed feelings about the washer, but it’s water efficient and probably more durable than contemporary consumer models. Seems like we’re in a race to the bottom in longevity, while manufacturers chase features no one asked for.

@@aneroid18 I replaced the bushings as well - they came with the belt replacement kit. Didn’t help. The only other thing I could fathom that might need replacement was the motor itself, like the bearings were going, and that’s when I just gave in. My new washer is a Samsung, and it’ll do just fine. At this point may very well outlive me, what do I care? Cheers!

I have a new belt and new isolators on the motor but it seems my belt is pulling to the back and popping off any ideas?
