I drained the oil out of the washer yesterday and then put some back in, I am not sure how to check if I put enough in. Do You know how to check it. There is a small hole in the top of a pipe and that is where I put the oil in. The oil that drained out was like molasses and the new oil I put back in is like honey.
@@timkessler4894 It took quite a while to let it drip in, I was trying to avoid a vapor lock In the morning it had leaked out, so I had to replace the gasket and put it all back together again. Now the cord it tripping the fuse. I'm going to keep trying.
Persistence pays off, sounds like your power cord has a short on it. I replaced mine it was simple, have you seen my oil change video that is the best way to avoid a vapor lock. Let me know if I can help you. Tim😃
Just remove the old cord take it with you to Ace hardware but when you remove the old one mark the posts on the motor you may have to crimp new spades on to the wires of the new cord unless it has screw terminals it is really simple. Tim😃
It's holding up good but I will probably put another coat on it this spring it has chipped a little bit because of zippers and buttons but it is still the best thing I did. Thanks for your interest. Tim😃
The wringer cap lifts off if it doesn't there is a pin at the controller end of the wringer just remove the pin and lift the wringer top off. The wringer head may need to be greased you will have to take the wringer apart to get to it. There are five bolts that holds the wringer to the wringer head you will have to remove them dig out all the old grease and pack in new grease but before you do that inspect the gears for wear chips cracks. Let me know if you need anything. Tim
@@timkessler4894 What grease do you use in the wringer head?? Have mine apart & can't find the answer. Is it also the 90 weight gear oil?? OR #2 Tube Grease as i have seen mentioned in other places?
@kellyharkins6588 I use a good quality grease that you can get at a auto supply store or Tractor supply it takes a pound of grease and be sure to pack all the grease in the wringer head. It never takes oil because it would put oil all over your clothes. Tim
