His father and uncle played a role in him becoming a boxer, but his dad went to jail and his uncle was his trainer, and was his father figure. For years while Floyd jr was young. From things I’ve heard Floyd say back in the day there was a little resent there because his dad was the bread winner and went to jail and they were broke, and struggling from my understanding. I remember hearing a story about Floyd jr having a gun pulled on him as a kid behind something dealing with his dad.

Its crazy because his dad was there his whole life until he went to jail for 6 years in the 90's. Floyd talking like he's never been there even when he had the opportunity.
