Try the brake booster hose it's the best place to throw smoke in to find a leak. I made my own smoke machine with a glass jar and some incense with a portable air machine 👍
Hi...if you conected to the brake booster hose,..will you get air in the brake system?...do i have to bleed the brakes after that.? Please help...thank you very much
May want to clean or replace injectors and seals with oem injector seals. It will eliminate faulty injector seals that leak one way but not the other where the smoke machine cant catch. You can also check it by spraying brake cllean or carb cleaner to see if its sucking in air if the engine run high while spraying over the injectors. I have the origional autool smoke machine pre flow guage and its been great. Their injector cleaner machine is AWESOME and has saved me a lot of money in not having to buy new injectors. Using it to do routine injector cleanimg also helps keep the engine running great and good gas mileage, worth the initial cost, especially with gas prices nowadays. Works great also for finding bad injectors to.
How does the smoke get past the throttle body if it's closed. If it's an electric throttle body and you have the car off the metal flap is closed how to smoke get in there? I have a 2003 Mazda 6 2.3 l. I am trying to find out how to do a smoke test this way and I don't think you can. Can someone please tell me where you would put the smoke in in some other vacuum line other than the air housing tube.
@@JoDaddysGarage I would need another person if I was in the front putting smoke in and trying to look for the smoke. I couldn't be in both places and sit in the car with the car turned on and the gas pedal down. Or have a device to hold the gas pedal down.
Guys I need help, I have a 2006 Mazda 3 2.0, rough idle, no codes thrown but obd read ol fault, when unplug MAF idles fine, replaced MAF with 2yr cons hand and 1 new still Same issue. I have gone over the top amd replaced fuel filter, injector service kit done, spark plugs, coils, o2 sensors changed, still rough idle. What area should I be looking for leak if is one.
Didn't get to the part where pressure builds... Know that you gotta be careful how much psi you let build up or you could blow intake gaskets. I believe under 3psi, but you should verify. Use the flow gauge to dial flow back and stop air as pressure builds. Bottom guage should drop to 0, then watch the top pressure gauge to see if it holds for 30 seconds.
Why did you select this particular smoke leak detector, SDT-203? AND I'm further confused because the Autool Website doesn't even list this model. ALSO, your link connected me to Amazon but not the product. ANYWAY, the video is just GREAT!
