Fantastic information about how to replace shock absorbers. I am mechanical minded but I don't have enough tools to change my Mazda 6 GH hatchback shock absorbers. I think, I will leave this job for a machanic shop, and at least I understand how hard or easy those guys in the shop how to do the job. Thank for your video, you did a very good video presentation.

Nice call removing the brake line -- didn't see that in the 1A video for this job. Also, that induction heater is a darned cool tool! Thanks for the video.

I love my Induction Heater. It is so useful. It was a tool I bought and I figured I'd use it once and a while but I end up using it all the time. These shocks are a pain to remove, especially without a lift.

Informative video man. I did this on my 2004 6S Hatchback in 2016 when I got all new Bilsteins from warranty. Original Bilsteins were installed by Sullivan Tire 5 years earlier, and I had no idea how difficult it would be to replace these. I have had Alldatadiy for over 10 years for this car so I've always felt confident tackling projects big and small, however this particular project was a ball buster due to the amount of corrosion on all the components and limited access to important bolts. I seem to remember having a terrible time getting the control arm off, as access to that bolt/nut was very limited and getting a socket wrench in there was ridiculous. I was so afraid of stripping the bolt head or nut and being basically f**ked. I did a lot of cursing, walking away and getting snacks and water, more cursing, an occasional busted knuckle... ha. Years prior I remember reading articles about this car when it was new and how genius the rear suspension was for it's discrete packaging allowing for a flat and wide load floor in the trunk. I guess nobody knew the downside to that fancy suspension setup is a hellish job replacing the shocks, most especially for those of us in the salty winter zone. By the way, one things I was surprised you didn't do was use a torque wrench to torque all those bolts down to spec.

Can’t you just put jack stands along the side of the car instead where they are meant to be instead of using ramps or jacking it down the middle and putting a jack stand in the middle?

Before you guys do this, check out 1A AUTO DIY of this, I think that method is less of a paint in the ass.

why your car does not have GR1L-28-65x at the down side of rear absorber?

Yep, New England will do that to a car. And this is clean for up here.

Pump Jack, Jack stands and car wheels and your still scared to get under there?😂 I'd trust that over ramps because they fail too. If all 3 fail at the same time it was just your time

Real men crawl under the car with just a cheap jack. As long as it doesn't have to bad of a lean going, you should be fine.
