Introduction to Mazda BT50 Service Light Reset:
The service light on your Mazda BT50 serves as a reminder for routine maintenance tasks. While it's crucial to address any underlying issues indicated by the light, resetting it after servicing is equally important to ensure accurate reminders in the future.
Understanding the Importance of Resetting the Service Light:
Resetting the service light not only clears the previous reminder but also ensures that future service intervals are accurately monitored. This helps in maintaining the optimal performance and longevity of your vehicle.
To reset the service light on the Mazda BT50 you need to turn the ignition on and hold down the accelerator and brake pedals together for approximately 30 seconds. When you see the spanner flashing you can release the pedals and turn the ignition off. Then start the engine and make sure the service spanner has gone out. This procedure will also work on the ford ranger models with the service warning. This will work on the 2018 -2022 Ford Ranger and Bt50 Model utes.
Step-by-Step Guide to Reset Mazda BT50 Service Light:
Step 1: Ensure Ignition is Turned Off
Before beginning the reset process, make sure your Mazda BT50's ignition is turned off to prevent any electrical mishaps.
Step 2: Locate the OBD-II Port
Next, locate the OBD-II port in your Mazda BT50. It is typically found beneath the dashboard, near the steering column. Once located, plug in your OBD-II scanner.
Step 3: Turn Ignition On
With the OBD-II scanner connected, turn the ignition key to the "On" position without starting the engine. This will power up the vehicle's systems, allowing the scanner to communicate with the car's onboard computer.
Step 4: Access Service Light Reset Function
Using the OBD-II scanner, navigate through the menu options until you find the "Reset Service Light" or similar function. Select this option to initiate the reset process.
Step 5: Follow On-Screen Prompts
Depending on the scanner model, you may be prompted to confirm the reset action. Follow the on-screen prompts and confirm the reset to clear the service light.
Step 6: Turn Ignition Off
Once the reset process is complete, turn the ignition off and disconnect the OBD-II scanner from the port.
Step 7: Verify Reset
To ensure the service light has been successfully reset, turn the ignition back on and check if the light no longer appears on the dashboard.
Conclusion:
Congratulations! You've successfully reset the service light on your Mazda BT50. By following these simple steps, you can maintain your vehicle's health and performance with ease. Stay tuned to HowtoNick for more informative tutorials and guides!

OK question. If my service light is NOT on, and I want to reset the service counter after replacing the oil, will this procedure STILL work? Is there anyway to see how many km left until service?

@@NaughtyGoatFarm I don't believe there is a way to check how many kms are left. I don't believe it will reset until the spanner light comes on either. Thanks
