Hii i got a cx7 2007 engine is loosing some power when i press down the acelerator pedal and sometimes smoke and it has a bad odor from the exhaust i read culd be the turbocharger and see your video it is great
Thank you for this video. Ive replaced one of these b4, fun job. This video got me wondering how easy it would be to replace the chra cartridge without pulling off the entire turbo like u did in the video, if trying to do it like im saying i can see it getting stuck and not wanting to seperate like urs was and maybe not having a good angle to smack on it while its still bolted up, maybe worth a try tho? Seems like it could save some time maybe?
Did you get excessive blow by out of oil filler hole when you're turbo failed? I'm not seeing blowby out of dipstick, but there is some at idle from oil filler hole...
Awesome videos. I found oil in the inlet of the intercooler when I was changing spark plugs. I know im going to have to do this soon. I'm going to attempt it, If it doesn't work out I'm scrapping the vehicle.
@TdubzSFS Nope, lol. That's the blow from the engine. Too much blow - used rings. He's going to rebuild the engine soon. A quick fix is to use a catch can right there
check or replace pcv (hard to get to from underneath, but i did mine, took a solid hour to get out. take out battery and air box, some harnesses there and take off your black turbo plastic plenum to expose the turbo vanes, if it moves in and out, up and down then you'll have smoke in the intake, then clean the egr. also when you take off the intercooler look in the inlet, I saw lots of black gunk and oil completely in there from the failed turbo. your o2 sensors, sparkplugs, cats take a beating also. good luck my man.
I rebuilt the k04 of my 2.3 disi with a Melett CHRA 6 months ago, and after 1000km's of soft use, turbo is smoking again. I am running straight pipe, I don't know if it's related. Its my car eating turbos?
@@pfun41 I'll install BNR S4 turbo soon, and maybe replace the PCV valve too, but I'm afraid to break the BNR S4 and smoke again, can't understand what's happening.
I was having the same prob when replacing my cartridge with an upgraded billet one. That thing was a bitch to get out. You didn't put a tiny bit of rtv on the hot side?
I’m a little confused with my 07 Mazda CX-7 because it doesn’t smoke it doesn’t leak oil and the spark plugs show no sign of burning oil but the level goes down a considerable amount
When the turbo is burning oil it's not going to reach the spark plugs. It's the turbo burning oil itself through the turbo seals. And honestly it can burn oil an not smoke enough to be blatantly obviously. Every now on the. On deceleration and what not
@@COYOTE_N8 It can go either way. The turbo seals keep oil in the cartridge. They can fail on the exhaust side and dump into the exhaust, or on the intake side and ingest it into the engine. I would expect leaks on the intake side, as the exhaust side always has pressure pushing against it, where the intake has suction.
@@pfun41 yea your right. A good way to know if it's leaking on the hot side like mine was is the smoking will be super miniscule untill the turbo and exhaust warms up a bit. The cold usually smokes right off the rip cus it's going through the motor like u said. 🤙
Yes. I found CorkSport makes a turbo that fits just like oem for MazdaSpeeds. It’s called CST4 or if you want a huge upgrade the CST6. My stock turbo is leaking oil so I’m going to be getting the CST4 in a couple weeks.
I have the same exact turbo on my Mazda but I have scrape marks all around the inside of the housing and noticeable shaft play. What kind of symptoms would there be?
You need a whole new turbo in that case. The turbine has been hitting the housing. Idk what effects it would have if you tried to put a new CHRA in that housing but I wouldn't chance it.
Yeah just some light to medium circular scratches and the car is nowhere near as fast as when I first got it. To be honest it feels ike a slug, bogging when accelerating but otherwise drives ok. Just not very powerful. Also it’s making a dental drill noise when getting into Boost.
