Normally, one should remove the cap from the Master Cylinder reservoir before forcing the calipers back inside. Also, at 20:64 there is still grease on the rotor. Grease is only good if it is put on the right place. Don't mean to sound picky or an ass. Just saying!

Take time to better explain what you are doing. Might want to remove the master cylinder cap and have someone watch while compressing the caliper. You could be making a mess on the top side without even knowing it. That fluid has to go somewhere when compressing. Brake grease in very specific areas only. You don't want it to make its' way to the rotor. Also, you transferred a lot of dirt and old grease to other sensitive areas via your hands. With brakes, cleanliness is very important. Apply the grease onto the sliding surface of the new slide hardware before installing the bracket back into place. If you are going to apply some on the back side of the new pad, do that after installing the pads and just before installing the caliper back. You have grease all over everything. Clean the rotor before re-installing the wheel. Keep it clean man! Thanks for the video.

If you turn the wheel, you will have better access to the back side of the wheel. I broke my 3/8 breaker bar and had to step up to 1/2 inch and an adapter.

Thanks for the video. Do you always have to replace the disk as well? Is it OK to just replace these pads? (What happened around 9:35? Lights turned off and never got back on. Can't see well after this) thx

You don't need to replace the rotor (the circle that the pads press against if it isn't worn too much, there are videos on to test the thickness of it and all rotors are essentially the same in that aspect) I would suggest bringing it to a auto parts shop to have them clean and make sure the surface is even, it is an inexpensive process.

My apologies I believe the battery was low on camera, in the dark all I did was take off the bolts that hold on that piece. If you want to pause the video when I take piece off you can see the holes where the bolts were. Hope it was useful to you!

Also u need to use brake cleaner on those new rotors that oil they put on them is very harsh on the new pads

Do the rotors usually just slide off that easily? Thanks for the video!
@ferenzi7741

Sometimes you will have to hit the rotor with a hammer to break the rust off. Sometimes it will be extremely difficult to get off.

@@ferenzi7741 gotcha. I'm always afraid to try it myself. Don't want to get into a situation where I bang the heck out of it, still can't get it off, then have to take it to a pro. Haha 😄.

@@brianhawthorne8480 don't forget to take the master cylinder cap off before you start pressing the caliper piston back in. I forgot to show that, But I promise you will not regret trying and jf your car isn't crazy rusty or abused it will turn out to be a quick and satisfying job

Yeah. I always change pads myself. Just not the rotors. I'll attempt this next time. Thanks.
