this makes solid sense on a turbo'd FS engine. N/A is a different story as the VTCS/VICS gives the base engine a nice help throughout the rev range.

Hey! I'm glad to hear it worked out well for you. I'm not sure the size but I'm running Ngk wires and the car loves them.

@@SteveTheBeardedWonder awesome, where did you buy them?

I actually bought them in a Mazda Protege group on FB. I'm running a 1.8L Protege Valve cover with 1.8L coil packs and Ngk plug wires. You can probably find the valve cover at a salvage yard, or in a Fb group. The Ngk wires you should be able to find online somewhere.

I just did this to my mazda protege dx 2003 to see if those selenoids were bad and turns on but turn off like in 5 seconds

The bypassing the solenoids leaving the flaps open is really only a benefit for turbo cars as far as I know. I'm not entirely sure if there's any benefit to doing it on a n.a. car.

I was trying to troubleshoot my car because it had a bad solenoid and i tried to bypass them like this to see if it is really the selenoid and it just dies after turn on

Would this help a stock Protege? Or is it just if the car has a turbo?

From what I've heard, if accompanied with a mp3 ecu which are fairly tough to find a n.a. protege may pick up a few hp and a little throttle response. Mainly noticable in turbo applications. It's easy to bypass/ hook back up. Worse that happens is it runs rough and you hook it back up. You only have to disconnect the main hose from that barb on the i.m., plug the barb and leave everything there if you're going to test it. Getting the lower actuator hose on and off is fairly annoying.

How to desconect the hoses from the actuator ?

Just twist and pull. They may be stuck.
