It ain't a party until this song is played! They don't make songs like this anymore, just like they don't make bands like this anymore... the world NEEDS this type of music and performance, not all the "sample and rap overs." Do your thing Frankie!
im 20 years old and i know more music from this era than half the people were born in that era....its crazy how much i love this music...its so soulful slave, the fat back band, cheryl lynn, evelyn champagne king, frankie beverly and maze, teena marie, barbara mason....i could go on for hours...hope music like this makes a come back and shows these new artist what real music is!!!
just good music. No half naked girls dancing around distracting from the music, no auto tune. Just a real band doing some REAL R&B. Look at those people just jamming and dancing. That's what I'm talking about.
Where on This Earth did this beautiful man come from. Certainly, he must be God's personal Assistant!! His voice is perfect. Yes, he's gotten older and wiser and his spirit continues to be the very best in the business. I absolutely loved this man.
Frankie Beverly and Maze a group back in the day still sound strong as ever, I remember being at their concert and broke down listening to happy feelings and also joy and pain. Thanks group for giving us real music over the years.
as usual what can i say they will never grow old i love them [ don't know one that don't i 've got all of the oldie's and i found an all star tribute to maze featuring frankie beverly and it is hot .keep listening to the best .
Angie, can't say for sure but I sumise that the vocals and song writing of Frankie is what makes the collaberation between the two...MAZE. Frankie is sick now, but when you listen to the original recording and concerts, there is nothing frankie holds back. Every concert ( guessing over a thounsand, ) frankie gives his all with his uquine vocals. Into his seventies now, he still keep pressing on . God Bless MAZE. Moyenda.
This is the music of me upbringing... Summa time southside of chicago.. I was born in 76. Ma whole life... This makes me feel black. Soulful ina african american way...
Another classic example of why this is one of the greatest groups ever. And if you haven't seen them live and experienced the "Mazeheads" in the crowd, well, you just ain't lived yet! These guys are just freakin' unbelieveable in concert!
Frankie Beverly and MAZE! Do you know how many Sat. mornings I cleaned house listening to you guys?? Thanks mom for introducing me to a wonderful group that is TIMELESS!
My most favourite tune from this group. You can't stand or sit still while this tune is playing,it just gets inside your soul and you just got to groove, serious ting.
Just get chills while listening to this music,. Be moved MUSIC HOW IT USED TO BE,. I m in tears our in rap artists won''t have classics like this. But Philly is in the House for sure I LOVE YOU FRANKIE BEVERLY& MAZE
I believe it was in the Spring of 1976, one of the best concerts I attended in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. It consisted of Maze, The Commodores and The Emotions; we just don't see or hear it like this anymore.
this music will be remembered. that stuff that is going on now will fade as it should. we lost Luther, Marvin, Berry, Issac, Michael and Teddy. we were blessed cause we had the BEST!!!!
seeing this band perform back in the early 90's in houston tx at the black rodeo has been a great inspiration in my life. I still remember how much fun my family had when he performed. Good times
@dundun211 couldn't have said it better!!! im 23 now but like you started listening to this music when i was like 14??? pure soul and funk!! deep respect for all those singers of that time!! i could hitt real hard on this!! midnight star....yeaaahhh can't get enough of them...vernon burch, the real thing, woody cunningham and so on and so on!!!! One love for the music of that time and all the people that made it possible!!
i luv them a mom of 4 my kids get a kick out of me singin all the song. my 9yr now sing along with me thanks for the happy feelin u brought 2 the world
My first concert was seeing them at the Hampton Jazz Festival couple years ago, this song everyone was doing the electric slide in the audience..SIMPLY AMAZING!.
Maze has that something that crosses the so-called "color barriers" and connects with everyone on some level. Just like the Spinners and Commodores, their music is universal.
I've seen a few artists in concert. Yet not one, in my opinion had the presence of this group. They are something special. If you like this music and haven't seen them in concert, see them before they are gone. They affected the crowd so profoundly that even the criminals weren't stealing.
The mic went into retirement after that peformance..He owned the stage and the song and the crowd and the band and the camera and the hat..SPECTACULAR!
