Joe Lopez was the voice of the old grupo mazz but don't forget that Jimmy Grammy Gonzalez was and forever will be the master of disaster, the one who engineered the music, the unique sound of mazz, he arranged from start to finish the sound of mazz til the end. May you RIP my brother Mr Jimmy Grammy Gonzalez.❤🙏
Tejano was all listen to when growing up that and Country but Tejano was and will be my Favoriate Music there will be but it's a shame that todays music does sound as good asTejano started. thanks for the upload music sound Great.
I grew up in California. Tejano music is not popular there and is not aired on the radio stations. In 1986 I happend to go on vacation to El Paso. On the radio station there was a bad ass song being played, I couldn't lose the opportunity before the song finished, I interupted my wife's cousin and asked, "Who it that on the radio?" They looked at me as if I was from another planet! "That's Joe Lopez and el grupo Mazz." Changed my life. I am their biggest fan!
When I was in the Corps on Camp Pendleton I turned alot of the Califas brothers on to Tejano music and let a lot of them record my Mazz cassettes. They would have paid but why charge my brothers for the best.....
Im from cali, probably from a younger generation that yours, im 30 years old, and i love mazz! It’s weird but for some reason mazz, the garcia brothers, lil joe, roberto pulido y los clásicos, david lee garza and rey perez, flaco jimenez, emilio navaira , hometown boys and ram herrera have been part of these 30 years of my life! Puro tejano!!
Thank you so much for this mix. You take me back to the times when we worked the fields with my family as a youngster as a migrant farmworker. We would rebotar cebolla, pick oranges and hoe cotton and this music takes me back the toughest but happiest times in my life. I will listen to this mix over and over to show my appreciation.
I can relate to these songs not played in Califas....I am Tejano born and bred, lived in Sacramento, Ca. for a few years and no Tejano Music....You are still Tejano @ heart and that is what matters...
i just wana know how I can get a hold of all their old school stuff?? i live in dallas and i already tried top10 and they couldnt get them either...please help!!!!!
Thanks for posting this mix. My parents are both deceased and Mazz was their all time favorite. It almost brought me to tears to hear these songs and have memories of my childhood fill my head! Thank you!!
