My right-hand woman Erin Garcia and I are starting up our debut project called Grupo Leyenda. We're originally from San Marcos, TX but we'll officially be moving to Nashville, TN on the early morning or early evening of Christmas Day 2018. Our original drummer is Hector Tello of the legendary Jaime y Los Chamacos and we might move him to Nashville with us. But yes, we're next in line buddy and we have 2 musicians in Nashville who have replied to our Craigslist ad already. Not to worry Nino because we'll be opening for lots of Tejano and Country music acts in Texas so I'll keep you posted about that.

Back when Tejano Music was Tejano Style not like todays bands where they turned tejano music into a circus act with thier rap/mambo/ect mixed in...La Mfia Mazz'"Pio Trevino and David Lee were the best....
I was thinking about this recently their are so many Mexican groups that sound exactly the same. This doesn’t just go for tejano sadly it’s not as popular due to the quality not being there. But you put on the radio or go to concerts with new artist and every single group sounds exactly the same absolutely no difference. But take a look at music from the 80s and 70s absolutely EVERYONE sounded different and was amazing in their own style. La movida con pío Treviño sounded amazing and had their own music. Oh so you got bored of it? Then put on some of David lee Garza and Roberto pulido. Every single artist sounded amazing and their own sound nothing was the same which made tejano music so good. Also take this out of the tejano genre los tigres sounded different from Ramon Ayala and Ramon Ayala sounded different from los invasores. Even more Joan Sebastián sounded different from Juan Gabriel and he sounded different from José José. But you take a listen to music now everything sounds the exact same from norteños to bandas to conjuntos to even tejano. Tejano music sounded so bland in the 2000s it sounded so generic and not the amazing sounds from the 70s and 80s. Sadly no teens my age listen to tejano music right now it’s all corridos tumbados. But even them they have horrible voices. Tejano artist and Spanish speaking artist in general from 70s and 80s all sounded amazing.
@Bananacom.edy I think you hit the nail on the head, so true. I will mention The Latinbreed when Jimmy Edward was the singer was one hell of a band; Little Joe y La Familia and Augistine Ramirez were still great bands in the 1970s, etc.
I dono if my dad had bootleg copies of them live or real tapes or 8 tracks we’d jam everywhere. I hated it as a kid now days I listen to it for fun and smiles . Thanks dad
I know a singer who sings his heart out. It was what he wanted to do and did. He could perform and sing the best of Mazz. He is awesome! I wish him continous success.
Working in Bay City Tx .at that time , had a broken heart , long drive to McAllen , then found the love of my life ....super great memories , I member .85 , 86 , 87 wow ke sufra la canaña !
Jonathan Batchelor She was great. Only Tejano singer who’s music had appeal to people outside the Tejano community, and the only Tejano singer to have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Says a lot doesn’t it.
