I know several people who lost their toads because the vet did not treat the MBD properly. There are some very knowledgeable Facebook groups with experts that can help. I am grateful for the admins in my group that have provided support And my little one is improving. We don’t have exotic vets in the area and I’m not keen on traveling out of state to one after hearing so many bad vet stories! Thank you for this video and explaining the different types of MBD ❤️

I feel like some animals that get this it’s not because the owner doesn’t care it’s sometimes because you didn’t do enough research and with us we assume he has it we always give calcium but we were given the set up and told it was proper come to find out it didn’t have uvb at all we bought him new lighting and supplements and he is now eating and moving around we assume that is what he has anyway because he has a lump on his back and wasn’t eating but I feel bad because I was told we had everything and Petco also just told us the other day when we went to get new lighting they said oh bearded dragons don’t need uva which everywhere I read it says both uva and uvb but we are going to take him in due to the virus the vets here are locked down only available for drop offs and haven’t been able to get a appointment yet but he seems to be getting back but we are going to take him in because we love him and don’t want to lose him and I feel terrible obviously it is our fault I just hate how almost everything you see is like it happens when people don’t care that’s not always the case sorry for the ramble I just been lost trying to find out things to do to help until can get him in. Other than the lump on his back and not eating his bones are still hard he did lose weight due to not eating he started back up today so hopefully we can figure out to give him a happy life

So I have a question. I can't tell how bad my bearded dragon's MBD is or if she even has it at all. She eats crickets, worms, all the normal stuff but is a little picky with her veggies. Her bones don't look mishapen and she still moves around some, but not much. Her back legs are looking pretty normal but her front legs/ arms often rest underneath her stomach. I have been giving her muscle therapy and making sure she has the right amount of calcium and she has always had UV light. Her diet isn't always the best but I'm trying. She also hasn't pooped in a while. I haven't given her a bath in a while and I just did so that should help. Does she have MBD?

My chameleon has a broken jaw about half way up the jaw I need help. He doesn't want to eat it's cone is soft and so I grind up the food it needs and put it in a dripper and feed it. But I don't know what else to do.

I've had my gecko for 11 years without problems, but within weeks she got mbd and it worsened despite weekly vet consultation and treatment with UV, Calcium and D3. I'm desperate to save her. Any ideas on why the treatment doesn't help or similar experiences with successful treatment? Parasites were already checked and treated.

Just got a crestie with MBD as a rescue. She’s a sweetie! One small hump on her butt and a wiggly tail. Thankfully her jaw is fine and she gets around great. I probably will always keep her in a shorter enclosure, incase she falls.

i’ve got a bearded dragon that i think i just caught the earliest signs of mbd - his lower jaw has started to stick out in the past week. i know it’s my own fault since i didn’t immediately give him a brand new uvb bulb after i rescued him, i just used the one his previous owner had, which was stupid and naive of me and i own that. i’ve already started adding extra calcium to his food and replaced his bulb, and thankfully he seems to have zero issues besides his jaw- he runs around and eats like an absolute champion. is it possible that he can get better and his jaw will go back in place? (i have already called up my vet and we have an appointment in a few days so i’m just trying to help tide him over til i have definitive answers!)

How much should I be feeding my lepard gecko muti vitimines? Shes 7, pink, her name is Calypso. I've had her since i was about 13... she is doing pretty good. I started babying her more this year and i noticed she looked a bit frail. I did more research and found that shes exhibiting "mild" signs of mbd. I have vitimines and calcium as well as some super worms and a med mealworm farm. I dont want to overwhelm her. Shes already improving; I've been giving her acess to calcium and giving her vitimines every other week. Should I be scared of dusting with muti vitimin more then a normal healthy gecko would get? I've heard people say that they can over dose on vitimines but I am unsure on if that's only if they had adoquate vitimines initially. Shes a good eater, very curious and alert. Shes a good babe, I feel terrible for not providing her with proper nutritional husbandry up until now. I'm lucky shes a hearty girl.

I took in a crested gecko today who has MBD and will be having a vet visit, i breed cresteds(this one is obviously pet only) so i have all the supplements and proper diet(pangea complete diet, exo terra liquid calcium, reptivite multivitamins), poor guy was mainly being fed mealworms and flukers diet which is trash, so i'm hoping since he's under a year it will be easily reversed and wont stunt his growth

How often do you give the animal the multivitamins ? We give are Chameleon the calcium without D3 daily and the same multivitamins you showed with D3 once every 2 weeks. But should we also give multi vitamins without D3 daily ?

Dystropy, so dis is how you pronounce it just so you know but big words to say. A terrible disease for them to get and really avoidable if there is no known health reason.

My crestie has just turned 1 and we have come out of winter recently. He has an appetite and moves around but he has tremors and cant climb ( he tries) or run and jump. He has been having calcuim and d3 and his powdered dirt since i got him 9 months ago. I think he has MBD. I have no idea what happened and i feel incredibly guilty. I got him from a reputable breeder ( he said mbd can be genetic). I cant afford a vet and i dont want him to live in pain. He is better than he was a fee months ago but i dont know what to do. My mom got a chameleon on a whim and didn't take care of it so my wife and I are trying to take proper care of it. He doesn't climb but just sets in his hammock. He's eating more but he's shaky and his little legs wiggle around. Is there anything I can do personally? I live in a very rural town with not reptile vets anywhere.

ive just got a bearded dragon from my brother that has severe MBD i rang the vets and they told me I had no need to call them. so im kind of stuck atm at what to do.

My tegu was kept without uvb most of his life. I’ve had him for less than a year now but he still can’t lift himself up. He hasn’t grown since I got him and he is still small. He has uvb and all the vitamins and calcium he needs. He’s in a 5 1/2 by 2 1/2 foot enclosure and still shows no signs of getting better.

He doesn’t seem to climb as much as he used too but he doesn’t struggle with eating. I have been giving him calcium in his food to try boost it up. Does my chameleon have fibrous osteodystrophy? He doesn’t really want to eat, hes super weak, he won’t even walk, his jawline is super like soft and he lays on the floor rather than the branch and i tried feeding him crickets with some calcium and d3 powder and he did eat them but he was still laying down, it took him so long to eat tho.

I've had my beardie for four monthz but for the first month or two he didn't get calcium or UVB,, now he has calcium, multi vitamins, and the correct UVB lights. for the past couple weekz hes been starting to grow a bump on his back. hez *still* very active and eatz normally- do you think this is MBD ? I see signs of MBD in my beardy and I am very discouraged because I did so much research and did everything necessary to prevent it. I use calcium supplements 3x a week and other vitamins 2x a week. I give her sun baths occasionally to get natural sun. I have the proper UVb bulb and temperature control. I feed her dubias and other veggies(she doesn't like them much at her age) but I don't know what else I am doing wrong. can someone explain?
