Griffin McElroy: When someone leaves your life, those exits are not made equal. Some are beautiful and poetic and satisfying. Others are abrupt and unfair. But most are just unremarkable, unintentional, clumsy. Also Griffin McElroy: When I am coach... Guys, when I am coa-... Guys, when I am co-... Hey guys, when I am coach, not there yet, slow your whistle down. When I am coach... when I am coach of team...
The way that Griffin can’t get his sentences out because he knows there’s no way for him to say “when I am coach” that doesn’t make him sound like a little street urchin aspiring to greatness
@@rainm9894 oh I dont know if this reply was sent BEFORE or AFTER I changed my profile picture to be more vague but in the olden days it was something called the _"rabies pride flag."_ Which. Is self explanatory, or it isn't.
@@m-ostrich768 When teams win, they often dump their coolers of water or Gatorade on their coaches as a form of celebration. But obviously, it would be _very_ unpleasant if it were boiling hot tea instead of room temperature cooler water.
Literally all I can think of what I think of a liquid called the good news is that Tim and Eric skit where they we're advertising "good news: cigarette juice"
Sad I had to scroll so far to find this comment! It looks like so much work was put into each logo and they had me ROLLING. reminds me of the Warrior cats bit!
@@Rothejfunk they’re fantastic! i’m a graphic designer and each logo that came up i was like “damn this person has a great grasp on typography, color theory, and design in general.” like it would take me minimum 2 hours to come up with the final draft of each of those yet you just flexed on us so hard
Power in Latin is actually imperium, which I think is actually a way cooler name than Vox anyway Vox means “the voice” apparently Lighting in Latin is Fulgur
@@zanderrose minor bit of pedantry here: potency (and potential, and potent) come from potens (gen. potentis), which is the present active participle of possum/posse, a verb that means "i am able"/"to be able" in the respective conjugations. wiktionary says possum and potestas both come from the adjective potis. potency isn't directly connected to potestas. anyway i don't like "imperium" for power because it means power in a more political sense, or just means "empire" most of the time, neither of which is useful for athletes. potestas has some similar connotations, though... what do you think about potentia? it might be the best for sports drink purposes
There's also a Bolt Alpha, which does more damage but always does damage you as well (whereas with Bolt Beta it only happens sometimes), and Bolt (Production), which does the least damage but has no drawbacks.
I've listened to this video a lot because I just let youtube recommend me mbmbam highlights sometimes while I'm doing something else, but today is the first time I actually watched it with my eyes and all the logos are incredible Oh my god while I was typing this the Elite Beat Agents showed up
Vox means voice. I think that person was thinking of Virtus, which means strength or courage. Fun fact about virtus is that since the root of the word is vir which means man, it is sometimes used as a word for manliness, yet virtus happens to be a feminine noun. Most intangible nouns are feminine, but it truly is ironic that the word for manliness is feminine
I love the use of images here, because Coach O might be the only guy who would actually be okay with having boiling Gatorade dumped all over him. That’s basically just an LSU tailgate but safer
It took me a minute to get it the first time I heard this and I’ve always been so impressed that Justin and Travis immediately knew what Griffin meant.
As someone who doesn’t watch football, I still laughed at the early parts of this bit. But now I have only just understood the sports team joke, and I’m fucking crying with laughter.
'thank you for helping us test our fluid' no, no, im good. nope. nooo. nononono. noooooooonononono nononononononononnooooooooo thaaaanks. nope. noooooope. no thanks. don't like that. nope.
I was searching desperately for the wonderful visualizations of the various drinks in the first bit that I completely forgot that it was eclipsed by the fantastic bit of Coach of Team - two for one deal, excellent all around
I think it’s a joke about having Gatorade dumped on them after successfully doing the sport ? like if it’s hot and it gets dumped on them. that’s an Ouch
why did you cut out a section of the audio? specifically right before 7:15, there's a bit where griffin goes "if i was a coach?" that's very funny and i was sad to not hear it
ok imma be real, i didn't expect you to actually read this, and now i feel bad for sounding ungrateful. sorry! thank you for uploading the clip in the first place!
I grew up near Poughkeepsie, do you know why they mention it from time to time, or is it just their de facto lil city to mention? I think it's usually Travis.
