This is a great and super helpful video! I had a system failing due to not enough space to create the EFI partition. Creating more space using Mini Tool Parition Wizard to create an unallocated 10 gb space did the job. But I followed the steps here to see what's happening in the conversion process. All is good now. Thanks!
Thank you very much! The IT Army is the goat! I wish you and your family good health sir!! This video helped where no other video could! I LOVE YOU :DD
check how many partition you have via "create and format disk partition" if you have 4 partition then you can delete one or merge it with another one. then run the command again. note that if you have 2 recovery partition you can delete and merge them using AOMEI Partition...
thanks for the video IT Army, mine still says can't find room for efi partition. The setupact.log shows 3 partitions with no errors on any of them, then says mbr2gpt : conversion failed, and that's it no errors or explanation. The last partition type is a 39, it is the recovery partition. Any suggestions on this one. Thanks.
Coversion was completed successfully but i got some following errors. Call WinReRepair to repair WinRe MBR2GPT: Failed to update ReAgent.xml, please try to manually disbale and enable winRe. MBRGPT: Before the new system can boot properly you need to switch the firmware to boot to UEFI mode! What to do next ? Kindly help im a starter.
Thanks for the great, detailed video. I'm getting an error "Cannot perform layout conversion. Error: 0x00000000" "mbr2gpt /convert /disk:0 /allowFullOS /map:222=EBD0A0A2-B9E5-4433-87C0-68B6B72699C7" It was solved by the above command!
mbr2gpt failed to update reagent.xml please try to manually disable and enable winre. how can i resolve this problem , however the conversion was successful and i booted in Windows OS.
I have an SSD and a HDD. Windows is installed in the SSD but somehow the windows system reserved partition in created in the HDD (even why windows is installed oin the SSD). Now i can`t convert from MBR because whichever drive I adress it gives me errors. What can I do ? Thanks in advance!
mine is converted in GPT but giving an error called "Failed to update ReAgent.xml, please try to manually disable and enable WinRE." will this create some kind of issue in my operating system????
Please share disk partition screen shot. I guess you don't have recovery partition. In case of OS boot failure you wont be able to boot to recovery console. You will need Windows installation media to do recovery.
A very helpful video indeed. I was wondering if these could be done offline? A friend gave me a broken and all that's intact is the hard drive (ssd) but upon checking I found out that there are 3 partitions on it: Reserved, Primary(MBR) and OEM partition(GPT). I tried to install windows 10 but it keeps failing, I tried converting it through cmd it while installing but it won't allow me. Could you help me please.
This utility worked for me but upon rebooting windows wouldn't start up. Booted a recovery USB and selected fix start-up issues. It said windows could not fix your start up issues. Rebooted and it all works fine and now running GBT on c:.
Thanks for the great, detailed video. I'm getting an error "Cannot map MBR partition type 28. Cannot perform layout conversion. Error: 0x00000000 I have the below details of my error info from Setupact.log. I haven't been able to upload a copy of my Disk Management window. I can send that, too, if you can tell me how to do it. (I saved it as PNG file with Sniping Tool.) It shows that Partition 1 is empty. Is it possible that I can delete it? I recently upgraded from Windows 7 to 10 and Partition 1 was present with Win 7. I don't know why setupact.log shows 4 partitions, as I only see 3 in Disk Management. Partition 1 shows as a Healthy Primary partition. First partition with partition id 28 (1C in hexadecimal number system) is creating problem. I guess you have ASUS machine and its the eRecovery partition that is creating problem. Please ensure whether you machine supports uefi or not. If it doesn't support you won't be able to boot after converting to GPT.
Can't we use EaseUS software this functionality is already available in that, which was used in your one of our video to convert logical partition to physical partition
how to resolve this log msg plz help ValidateLayout: Too many MBR partitions found, no room to create EFI system partition. though i have maximum three partition only

@@itarmy2778 sorry sir i am replying you late, 1.In legacy mode no boot media available, something like this error. 2. In UEFI mode it starts dell troubleshooting and checking any hardware problem for 1:30 minutes after this it gives two options, press ESC to exit and press F2 to BIOS setting. Thanks for your reply.
@@itarmy2778 sir, actually i don't think there is any hardware related issue, because i have linux live flash usb and when i plug and run it UEFI mode it starts and i am able to access my hard disk data. So i think now i have reinstall window 10
I have a different problem, I have tried this method and your other video method. Both have failed. I will show you screenshots of disk management and error logs. Havent tried to convert as can't get it to even validate. Here they are mega.nz/#F!blw1AKxa!Rb5TY7a2odu5OcXIr2nYSA
Your boot partition is on disk 1 and windows is installed on disk 0. There is no empty space at the end of disk 1 so you need to shrink volume E by 10 MB
@@itarmy2778 How is my boot partition on disk 1 and how can i move it to disk 0 To give more info, my pc had a HDD where it had FREEDOS OS, I added a SDD and installed Windows 10 on it, and left the other harddrive for data but without formatting (just in case i had to leave the laptop as it came to return it in case it failed). And here we are now.
