You can tell Charla has the utmost respect for her, he was quiet, listening intentley and had his professional hat on, with constructive questions. All hail the queen, MCLyte.
MC LYTE IS A LEGEND! God gave me the opportunity to interview her and be mentored by her during my college internship. she is such a LYTE - literally. amazing interview!
Now this was truly a great interview they didn’t do any gay jokes. They actually conducted their selves like real interviewers. They actually acted like grown-ups. I truly appreciate this interview with auntie MC Lyte
😂😂Bc they knew she wasn't about to play with them. Some people carry themselves with dignity, poise and boundaries. And she's one, they weren't gonna go there😂😂
Her response to questions about the gay rumors in her career was very...adult. Everybody in the entertainment industry doesn't handle questions that straightforward and with ease. And when you get to a certain level in life, healthy idgaf vibes take over.
I hear you bro! I thank God they kept it professional. Asked solid questions. And Lyte? Was just Lyte! I know Q.Latifah came up with it but "All Hail the Queen (Lyte)"
This is one of the best interviews The breakfast club ever did. It was no nonsense and it was an interview of substance and it's something about a woman that is comfortable in her skin with nothing but Elegance in class. She carries that in her spirit and when men see that they follow suit and they came to her and addressed her. Nothing less than a classy lady. Love it. She was always one of the best to ever do it and I feel like she never got the flowers that she deserved. She made moves through the industry without showing her body to do it and she just let her skills speak for itself and it paid off in a big way. So glad to see she has found love again and also glad that she didn't trash talk her ex-husband
@@shataviaturner2481 I'm a Man, I could never hate on women my love, I love them,Ms MC LYTE is amazing but black don't crack is wack like crack 😂😂 never is a Man perfect and nor is a woman but maybe the creator will continue to bless us and forgive us amen and yes you are amazing and I love women more than anything else after the creator of everything and the righteous and then women my wife and kids
Amazing interview. I was born in 1980. My favorite aunt was born 1979. She put me on to Lyte and I’ve loved her ever since. Can’t wait for the album. We love you Queen
It's amazing that this is her first time on the breakfast club and she's from New York. Please bring legends on the show because I'm still in love with their stories.
One of the best interviews I've seen in a very long time! I think it because the way MC Lyte answers questions and shared her stories. Always respectful without disrespecting others.
Thank you!!! That sample from the 70s and her crazy flow on that one made STLL my fave from her. "Wanna battle me? Now that's strange behavior. Drinking and driving, yeah you're probably safer." 😂🤯🫡
Lyre is naturally beautiful. She could loose the makeup and fake eyelashes. I don’t know why she thinks she needs that stuff. Come on Lyte go natural and go against the culture. Be set apart.
Almost 35 years after “Eyes On This” and it is not only the most stylish Hip Hop album cover I’ve ever seen. But still ranks among the most stylish I’ve ever seen period. Lyte was so cool and chic👠🔥
Mc Lyte carried me through all my basketball life. The bus rides to other schools is where I found my peace listening to her music. Thank you Mc Lyte, you deserve your flowers.🎉
SALT-N-PEPA MC LYTE YO YO QUEEN LATIFAH LIL KIM FOXY BROWN MIA X LAURYN HILL QUEEN PEN MISSY ELLIOTT LEFT EYE These 80’s & 90’s rappers are my all-time favorite female MC’s hands down! I miss these ladies!!!
McLyte is a true legend and this was the interview I’ve been looking for. She hands down is my favorite female rapper ever since I heard the Lyte as a Rock album (tape lol). Such a smart woman and I wish her much continued success.
Listening to her, one can tell that she put thought into every word she speaks. Her mother did a great job in her upbringing. A wonderful person she is. All blessings to her. ❤
This interview is EVERYTHING!! Controversial questions answered straight up and with grace. Love Lyte. It’s so rewarding to see a rapper that you came up with age with grace and poise. Really, REALLY happy for Lyte!!
ICON IN THE BUILDING!!! MC LYTE…1 of the Pioneers of Rap…LOVE HER💜💐🔥💯!!! MC Lyte and Queen Latifah are definitely on my Mt. Rushmore!!! I love her speaking voice…it’s so distinctive.
Wow, that was an amazing interview! You could really feel the respect and reverence Envy and Charlemagne have for MC Lyte. It's awesome to see how they admire such legends. ❤️❤️❤️😊
This is probably the realest and in-depth interview she's ever done. I love Lyte ❤ always have and I've never cared if she was gay or not. She's so dope
I used to say she is one of the best female MCs but now that I am older, I can say she is one of the best MCs. I feel Lyte rocks with all the heavy hitters from the 80s and 90s. And would put a hurting on all the rapper these days. Great interview!
MC Lyte is one of the dopest MCs in the game. She literally convinced me to date a roughneck 😂🎉 What a pleasure. Great interview, so intelligent and professionally done. Cheers! Love Lyte. ❤️I'm looking forward to hearing the new album.
Lyte has always been well spoken, classy and fierce at the same time. Salute to her and her longevity. I wish there were more female rappers that were like her. Respect
i can recall the battle between lyte and antionette.... so glad they were able to meet in person back at the queens of hip hop tour in ATL.. BOTH ICONIC WOMEN
Yeeessss. I appreciate both of their skills. Antoinette just had this grit to her vocal tones that was undervalued and simply compared to Rakim repeatedly. Wish she could have received the same shine oh but this business🙄
I remember abandoning my post in 1991, when I worked at 6 Flags, just to walk around, get on rides, & talk to her, DJ K-Rock, Milk, Giz, her Dad, & that big bodyguard that was on her 1st album cover !!! She was down to Earth & loved getting on all the scariest rides !!!
I remember in 1988 I attended Norfolk State University I read in the magazine she was going to attend NSU. I was waiting for her and she never showed up. I thought is was false info but Lyte confirmed it. I still feel like the little kid sitting on the steps waiting for pops. lol. Love you Lyte.
This was a wonderful interview! I haven’t watched The Breakfast Club in a while because I can’t take Jess, this was such a good flowing conversation and I really enjoyed it.
If you put LL in that group (And I agree 100), you have to place ICE T in that conversation. He also transcend from Rap to TV and been doing it for over two decades.
