The fact that LL Cool J has been through many eras of Hip Hop from the mid 80s to 90s to 00s, to 10s and now 20s he doesn't get enough credit for how much of an icon he really is....true or definitely true?
That's what puts him in the true GOAT category all by himself. Its more to just the greatest rapper in this GOAT category for me. There's No other rapper out there that has his longevity and consistency.
He cracks himself up to cover his insecurity. When Jay is mentioned. The weird laugh is him trying to display confidence when he mentally know that Jay would be a problem lyrically.
LL be showing these dudes how to do the game right. He is so grounded. Never got hooked on drugs, protects his brand, no bodies under his belt. Yessssssss. The G.O.A.T.
LL is easily one of the GOATs. One of the most influential rappers ever. Jay-z and him helped make growing older in hip hop cool. LL has given back a lot to the older hip hop acts. Much respect.
he called himself the GOAT on "I shot ya" in 1995 and named his album GOAT in 2000...none of them other rappers started talking about being the GOAT before then Homie @@MrMonkeylawyer
Word. LL still has it. I finally saw him live last year...and even in his 50s, it was the best live performance from a hip hop artist that I've ever seen.and I've seen a lot since the 80s. Excellent breath contol...and crowd control.
LL is to Hip Hop, what Hulk Hogan is to pro-wrestling. They both catapulted their respective artistry into the stratosphere. 1984- today, same timeframe of M. Jackson, M. Jordan, and Mike Tyson(1985). The mid 80's birthed real Iconic performers.
Except MJ was a bonafide star with the thriller album in 82 which he won 8 grammys for 0lus we cant forget littke youngin Michael performing James Brown moves in 19966 at Motown and of course the Jackson five so technically Michael was a star since his youth days but as a soloist is just straight conquered💯✅️
Just a reminder MJ won all those grammys (8) in 84 so yeah you still was correct cause thatvwas the height of his career and still nobody has been avle to defeat his album sakes for thriller💯✅️not even Prince which im surprised you didnt mention 84 was also the Purple rain yr just had to add that to the sauce( truth)✅️
I’m not over 40 and I respect LL 😂😂he was the first rap superstar plus he a actual MC and one of the first rappers turned actors I just think people my age or younger don’t study up on these type of things and that’s when the culture gets disconnected
My son didn't know LL is a rapper. We were watching NCIS LA, and he said why does he have a rappers name? And I looked at him and said son what are you talking about? He is a rapper! He is the first rapper to take it farther than rap! He said no, he not. So, the next few days he learned who LL is! I remember him saying dang Sam Hanna got bars! Then cut to about a month later i hear him on the phone with his girlfriend playing and quoting i need love and around the way girl.
@cthagod That @llcoolj interview should be viewed as some sort of academic cultural content. It is American history, art history, sociology, psychology, music history. He is iconic and it was a splendidly done interview that deserved the amount of time it took to complete. Kudos.
I been saying without LL Cool J we wouldn't be so far in hip-hop especially in the pop culture. He made it possible for us to branch to other lanes in music. If we purely talking impact & influence then LL is definitively the GOAT!
L is spitting mad jewels kid. Hopefully the younger generation can hear the gems of knowledge this legend is dropping. You can’t talk about Hiphop or any list without the mention of LL Cool J. He is our first global Hiphop icon. No internet and no social media. Just skills
Chile these kids don’t even listen to their own parents and they don’t care to listen to anyone else. It’s so sad because LL is really dropping gems 💎 that they should pick up.
Hope LL always gets his flowers man, he’s to hip hop what chuck berry & the Beatles are to rock n roll. Glad he’s healthy, thriving & still motivated to make his voice heard in the culture. 👑🫡🐐
It is so refreshing to see a an interview of a Legend 👑 of hip hop who is still humble, funny, 100% honest and not bitter after 4 decades of succes in multiple genres like music , TV and movies . Huge respect to LL his longevity is incredible.
Such a dope interview… I had to keep rewinding… So many gems being dropped… So great to see ya back out on the field LL… still one of the dopest to do it… I been listening since the 80’’s… BIG SALUTE
I love this interview 😂😂😂 LL is the truth and I know that is old slang but I couldn’t think of anything else. He had me cracking up the whole interview. I was scared and mesmerized at the same time. You can tell he plays no games!
Not everyone thrives solely off of money.. Him n his family is straight and strong and that’s probably all that matters to him…Money is the root of all evil….‼️‼️‼️
I have to say this is the most interesting interview I've ever seen with L, It's because of L that I'm rhyming today.I used to learn his rhymes and say them on the school bus, I would pick the songs that no one would know and everyone thought I was the best rapper ever. I decided from that point that I had to write rhymes I was six years old sounding like the goat 🐐 Everyone needs to follow this channel. Great job keeping our legends in a safe place. Thank you L For inspiring me to be a rapper sincerely yours Troy Bellow the Profit
I remember back in the day L.L. COOL J. played a concert in New Orleans at The Municipal Auditorium 😊when it was his time to perform they dimmed the lights in the auditorium & low & behold the curtains pulled back there was possibly at 6x12ft boom box radio center stage by far the largest radio we’ve ever seen. L.L. had on a powder blue Kangol bucket hat & matching gear. Instantly we the people of New Orleans fell in love. ❤ When he hit the stage with “I Can’t Live Without My Radio” with so much excitement between myself & brothers I nearly fell off the balcony😂😂😂😂😂Thank God for my brothers catching me. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂L.L. COOL J. 🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤We Love You for Life! ps….LL if you should read this post always remember We appreciate & love when you would stroll thru the Super Dome arena on the floor level during Essence Festival & take photos with us. Again we love you. New Orleans❤
I'm not American mam but very keen to learn about your dad...what did he do/was he known for to get a mention from the GOAT himself?? Sounds like one of those cultural icons from New York that we only get to learn/hear about from Rap Legends.
LL was my first celebrity crush seeing him in the movie Crush Groove 😂. I remember telling my Mother one day I will marry LL and I did 😮. My husband in elementary nickname and "signature" was LL Cool J 😂❤. God heard me. LL music is still on my playlist, he's aged like fine wine, and my favorite movie is Last Holiday.
