My big cousin Tim Royal dropping me off at the high school football game on a Friday night in his Nissan Sentra. He is still the coolest cousin I have. This song transports me right back. What a time to be alive. Pittsburg TX.
Yessiiiiiirrrrr!!!! I’m from the A!!! I’m 38 and I told my son I haven’t heard this song since I was like 9. I remember they used to play it on the radio when they would do mixes.
Without a doubt, have this classic 12" on wax and the album, the 80s went way too fast, so many hiphop styles that came and went so quickly, the sound changed every 6 months and was incredible until the mid to latter part of the 90s then the fun went out of it, the sound changed too much for me.
I used to wear out my Coming Correct in '88 cassette. Will still play Shy sometimes when I'm working in the yard. Also want to shout out Tony MF Rock (She Put Me in a Trance, Street Resident, etc.)
I use to slap this in my 85 Ford Granada, with house speakers in my trunk, controlling the sounds with a zap board back in 87. Yes I was 17. Those were the good ol days.
I remember back in 1987 when my home boy popped this joint in the tape deck of his uncle's '85 cutless supreme, they rocked this classic that whole summer
Dang. Memories when I was forced to live with my abusive auntie in Boyle Heights Los Angeles , the only good thing that happened in the whole 2 years, was a cousin dropped off this tape and I got my hands on it. Mc Shy D baby.
SALUTE...NOTICE THIS YOUNG MAN DIDNT USE ONE FOUL MOUTH VULGAR CURSE WORD AND STILL GOT HIS POINT ACROSS!!! CLASSY AND CLASSIC COMPARED TO THIS TWISTED GARBAGE MOUTH RAP THIS LOST GENERATION OF KIDS TODAY LISTEN TOO!!! THIS CLEAN CUT RAP NEEDS TO COMEBACK AND TAKE OVER...AMEN!!! #TRUERAP #DATRUTH #REALRAP
rocking my box on my shoulder on the basketball court and walking down the street watching people on their porches dancing while Im playing this on repeat!

When I was growing up in Atlanta in 86 my brother use to have VW Rabbit two tone Orange and White with 2 15's Cerwin Vegas with a 3000 watt Zeus amp that use to shake Sharen Show Case in the Dec coming to pick me up playing this song!
My pops put me on to this when I was younger. We used to sing it back and forth (no worries he's still alive and I'm just in the military now) Good ol times. Life was better in 2016 Idk what happened after that for music
Saudades dos bailes do Rio de Janeiro. Country da Praça Seca, Sargento de Cascadura, Jacarepaguá Tênis Club, Play House, Via Show, Rio das Pedras, Associação de Rocha Miranda, entre muitos outros
I had two albuns of him on vinyl in the 80's. I like his flow and old school rap has the best sampels. And the best thing is when they go crazy on the turntabels.
got this in my 12" collection from back in tha day ..he was awesome with the beats basslines and samples..MC SHY D all the way .. was prob the one first with the speed rappin'!!
I remember when I was a git my Brother rip and his friend took me to a 2 Live Crew concert at the orange bowl and Mc Shy D was there and performed this song and I started walking around my school like I gotta be tough
Fun Facts: Shy D taught DJ Man how to DJ. Shy D actually did the scratching on this song because DJ Man was not around at the moment it was made. Shy D also did the scratching on "We Don't Play"
I remember when I went to the civic center in Atlanta to see Shy D and he didn't show up. 2live Crew was there and Heavy D opened up. I always wanted to know why he didn't show up. Lol
Somtimes they are takin off the bill for whatever reason! Sometimes do to other acts needing time to complete their show. Maybe he wouldn't of had enough time to perform. Got to remember Stadium is rented, so once time is up they have to exit celebrity or not😉👍🏿
