Hey Ron, thanks for all of this work! The Roland manual is so bad, without videos like this I'd be a bit lost. One thing I am still yet to figure out, and can't find any demos showing how, is scales. There seems to be a project scale and key, and then a track scale, and then also I think tone scales. I have no idea how all that works, certainly not how I'd expect. Like a project scale seems to have no effect on any tone track. Do you cover scales in any of your videos ❤

@@bloopbleepnothinghere sorry i haven't ever got into scales, i just use chromatic. But if i ever do I'll do more

@@RonCavagnaro haha, well if I figure it out I'll share the knowledge somewhere appropriate in the comments 😂. The Roland manual mentions the word "scale" exactly once. Maybe they don't know how it works either.

I thought I'd seen it all... But in the right hands, this instrument keeps amazing me! So inspirational! Thank you for the upload. The first half with the explanation was already gold. The second half is mind-blowing. Looking forward to more of this combo videos! 🤯😍

That is a very fascinating tutorial, I've never seen anyone produce an experimental track like that before, it's usually a generic and predictive scenario. You've done something very leftfield and interesting... Spendid work.. And subscribed.

Thank you so much Ron! My 707 has been asleep. Your tutorials remind me why I choose to include it in my studio. So looking forward to getting back into it again. Cheers!🙏🖤

Nice! There’s always something new to learn with the 707 and getting inspiration from watching different workflows and creativity is one of the best ways of finding these nuggets. Thank you for taking the time to play and post. ❤

Wow! I have been owning an MC707 for like 3 years and recently haven’t used it much but this tutorial is so good, there are still things in it that I didn’t know. I’ll probably use the 707 more after watching this!

MC 707 has the most smooth and non-button guessing workflow ever. This machine is greatly sophisticated and it seems that the guys behind it's development put a huge efford to make everything seem at the right spot\place.

You can clear the motion with motion on+ turn knob. Also you dont need to activate motion rec in order to record motion. You can just turn a knob while you press motion rec.
@RonCavagnaro
@RonCavagnaro 6 месяцев назад
Yes i illustrated that later in the video but didnt say it. I wanted to save a lot of the shortcuts for later episodes
@ionianechoes
@ionianechoes 6 месяцев назад
@RonCavagnaro the motionrec+knob is so much more useful that I don't even see it as a shortcut anymore. It's the only way y record motion. Also if you dont do this you risk forgetting that you engaged motion rec in the first place. It's like the project saving shortcuts etc. You will never go back to the regular way of saving once you've used the machine after a while.

Thank you for the clip! Very helpful. Do you know how to get a drone sound without accentuating the first step? I try setting the step length to, say, 128, but when I play with the cutoff, it still doesn't sound good sometimes.

@@RonCavagnaro Thanks! However, the problem remains that when I adjust the cutoff control, the sound drops after about 1-2 seconds and becomes quieter after I stop turning the cutoff control. Do you have any idea what could be causing this?

@@atomfaust oh i see what you mean that's note length and sustain has to be enabled on instrument. I was going to get into that in next video but you can hold note on the step and change note length
