McAllen Texas in HD - Driving tour of downtown McAllen, Texas on the US/Mexico border. "McAllen is the largest city in Hidalgo County, Texas, United States, and the 22nd-most populous city in Texas. It is located at the southern tip of the state in the Rio Grande Valley, close to the country of Mexico. The city limits extend south to the Rio Grande, across from the Mexican city of Reynosa. McAllen is about 70 mi (110 km) west of the Gulf of Mexico. As of 2019, McAllen's population was estimated to be 143,268. It is the fifth-most populous metropolitan area (McAllen-Edinburg-Mission) in the state of Texas, and the bi-national Reynosa-McAllen metropolitan area counts a population of nearly 1.52 million."

Planning on moving out of Northern Virginia. Cost of living is so expensive here. McAllen seems like a great choice. The house prices are so affordable compared to the DMV area.

Listen I m thinking about moving to McAllen Texas and you right it’s cheaper the houses are affordable and I just hit 55 years old they run about $400.00 for the mortgage payment see you guys soon over there oh and I know I’m bilingual

McAllen is an amazing place to live. I used to live there but now I live in a city right next to McAllen. I have gone to downtown McAllen multiple times!

The landscape is pretty flat and boring...No lakes and rivers. I would choose. North of San Antonio, HILL COUNTRY area.

It's very nice to see that the city has buried its power lines. Driving up and down so many streets -- with views uncluttered by power lines -- looks peaceful and beautiful. If I come down to visit (from San Antonio) I will need to pay special attention that the traffic lights are on poles on the corner. I was down there in April 2002. I attended a mariachi Mass at a large Catholic parish. I do not remember its name.

They have busses, which is nice. Nueces County has buses 100 miles to the North. In between, maybe no buses. Downtown looks better than Corpus Christi which got the Suburbia bug and mallitis. so it got spread out all over.

My Town. Im always in the area. Beautiful Church. Good for Shopping. Old School Marias Restaurant and Rex Cafe. Very Low Crime Rate.

Yeah in McAllen u can see cars stores alot of things not like Mission just few stores and tuns of family homes all over nothing exciting that's why everyone if there going to go out they go to McAllen

I’ve lived in both places. Mcallen has WAY more to offer then Brownsville, but Brownsville is pretty and closer to the beach and more family friendly In my opinion. You can’t go wrong either way

Texas, and not particularly singling out McAllen, invests absolutely $0 into beautification projects. And that’s just sad considering the wealth of the state. From what I’ve seen only Dallas makes SOME attempt to make their city actually LOOK nice. And still, that’s not saying much. My current city, Houston, is especially disappointing when it comes to visual clutter, architectural blandness, uninteresting greenery and just general unattractiveness. If you need to build a 20-story building, the cheapest box version isn’t always the best. Paying a little extra to *”jazz it up”* and make it unique can help the overall aesthetic of the city. Yet, people here get upset when others call the place ugly. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ If it weren’t for the job market and lower cost of living, Texas would be empty. Do better Texas or just go and re-join Mexico. 😡

😆 hope u don't find any girls around trying to get picked up lol just woken ... I heard there around those areas and in la Casita hotel also... I think the only bad area of McAllen is we're la Casita hotel is at there usually watch that place all of the time cuz alot of bad stuff has happened in that area and can u believe it's still open instead of closen it down... All of McAllen is nice except that area were I told u.. great video 😊

I noticed in downtown there's a orange building across the street from a yerberia at the end on 17st where u see people out side hanging out like if they live in the building but they all look like people who drink a lot men and women there with them hanging out. I sometimes pass by and they all stear at me but I don't say anything just keep driving I was wondering that's all..

Those are ppl from Cuba Puerto Rico that rent rooms there. They all share the rent. Theyre Daily workers. Some drink n smoke outside but theyre not the violent type.

I live in the gorgeous Northern Virginia - DC area and got a job offer in this McAllen place with really good salary. But I love the culture and amenities of metro DC. Cost of living is not even in my top 5 reasons to live somewhere; I am a single guy and I’m often willing to spend a little more for what I like; I like having the beautiful Shenandoah park an hour from me, being able to see world-class shows a couple times a month, enjoying beautiful architecture, rivers, greenery, trees, elegant coffee shops, beautiful wineries, cultural events left and right. This downtown looks tasteless with no defined architecture; just random generic buildings with those ugly awnings that make it look cheap and boring. Nope, I’m staying here and will politely decline the offer.
