I wonder if the Nighthawk was ever responsible for any UFO sightings. It wouldn’t surprise me. It’s a strange looking aircraft. Awesome and strange. Depending on the angle you are seeing it, the overall profile and outline changes dramatically.

The answer is yes. During the late 80s there were many sightings of 'flying triangles' around airbases in the desert. Stands a chance that what people were seeing was this

Oh, I bet a number of stealth aircraft were mistaken for UFOs at one point or another.

They were amongst many other triangle aircraft tested in Area 51, and not to mention not seen by public yet so they had no idea

There were a ton of UFO sightings reported around Nellis AFB in the 80's and 90's.

"if your camel went missing, then you knew who was responsible for it at that time" Hahahaha such awesome commentary. You wouldn't be able to get away with saying something like that nowadays unfortunately.

It's amazing that such a futuristic jet utilizes 1950s era technology Grimes rotating beacon...probably due to it's low radar signature profile compared to a strobe light. Gotta love it!

4:02 I noticed something about the Night hawk; it does a pretty good 45 plus angle turn. It must be due to the angled structure of the wings. This legend still flies in 2022! 🇺🇲

That was a good climb and turn out at minute 6:25. One of the downfalls of the F-117 was an overstressing of the airframe especially the wings which lead to an investigation of the flight dynamics of the design after an accident at an airshow. But the aircraft could evade radar with its stealth profile.

Doesn't exactly *leap* off the ground does it, with the doctored-up intake & exhaust ducts necessary for stealth. I'd hate to lose an engine in that thing on takeoff at gross weight. The last one working would get you all the way to the scene of the crash...

The B-2 does it’s job better, and we have other stealth planes in the making. Rumor has it that Northrop might be building an upscaled version of their YF-23 fighter jet, only this time it’ll probably be a replacement for the B-1 bomber. A bomber version of the YF-23 would probably be the fastest and most stealthy bomber ever made, and likely have the capability of hunting and killing enemy fighters, too. That said, in spite of the F-117’s official retirement in 2008, F-117s have been seen flying near Area 51 as recently as 2018, and the USAF has admitted that they’re keeping a few F-117s in combat-ready condition.

@mtgAzim
@mtgAzim 5 лет назад
@@Derek_Gutzwiller There were still some F-14's in use until like 2008 or something (I may be wrong about that) and I've seen some people talking about them coming back in a limited capacity as fleet defense aircraft, but I have no idea if there's any truth to that.

After the NATO aggression on Serbia in 1999. year, a U.S. general visited the Military Museum in Belgrade. General approached the curator of the museum, a former officer and asked: "How was war on the largest and most powerful force in the world?" And the officer answered, "I do not know, we never fought against Russia."

The time that plane what shoot was day time. In the Night they not able do shoot this plane it was a mistake from the militarys to start this plane at day time. in day time you can see all the planes but in the night you not able to shoot this plane from the sky. this plane is invinsible on radar still today.
@rijkemans5114
@rijkemans5114 6 лет назад
All you need is a trained radar crew and a radar with the right modifications. The missile was radar-guided, and the F-117 was detected after the bomb bay was opened. I'm not sure if day or night would've made a difference.
@WranglerSlim
@WranglerSlim 6 лет назад
Robber_Baron The missiles were not guided to their target by radar. The air defense crew estimated the speed and altitude based off of what little glimpses they could see on the radar, and then estimated where they should aim the missiles. Neither one hit the F117, rather it was downed by shrapnel from the nearest missile explosion. During the same war, the newer B-2 Spirit bombers were carrying out numerous missions without incident, not to mention that Serbia’s little accidental victory still didn’t win the war for them.

So slippery it needs a drag chute? lol This plane is so aerodynamically faulty it has to have computers to fly it. The pilots call it the Woblin Goblin, because the computers were constantly correcting it's flight path.
@ericliu2129
@ericliu2129 7 лет назад
cacornett58 actually most fighter jets are wobbly, it's design that way. Eg. F-15 etc Lockheed Martin fighters all use computer assist

Fighter aircraft are built with instability in mind, which gives them their turning and rolling performance.
@chrisbrackin8822

A lot of fighters are like that. The F-4 Phantom was a horrendously faulty airplane when it came to aerodynamic stability.
