My son was one of a group of fathers that went to the UH library to express their disagreement over rainbow story time. He definitely doesn't identify as a Christian fundamentalist. But he was raised with Christian morals. I am finding a lot of people who wouldn't normally identify in any way as being Christian, are actually now acknowledging that whether they believe or not, Christian morals are the standards they want for their kids.

Great piece Bob, completely exposes the bias. This nonsense of attempting to make drag queen/king storytime for young children innocent, the 'nothing to see here', is particularly challenging for any thinking person. You did a very thorough job of dismantling this. I was disappointed to see that they did go ahead with this particular storytime online though, against the clear wishes of the community.

Why dont they read for the sick or elderly? They are obsessed with children

I think 7 sharp should have been cut from TV and replaced by Fair Go, which at least tried to support and be less opinionated than Hillary Barry. Very shocked and saddened by her attitude and Jeremys. Have stopped watching the programme now for a long time. They are plucking at straws for news, sadly how the so called mighty have fallen.

When I called my council to express my concern about hiring adult performers to perform for children 2 years ago I was verbally attacked by the woman on the phone. Among other things i told that the library had no control over what the performers did outside of the library. To which I replied so next time we will will have a stripper, who acts like a stripper, dresses like a stripper and talks about being a stripper, but it'll be OK because she won't actually strip!? Thankfully they had so many complaints they haven't tried it again. Nothing was ever done about the woman who screamed abuse at me down the phone though.

I picked that up.... So I wrote a Formal Complaint to TVNZ immediately that night stating it was an unbalanced story. In particular why was the Rosie Parker 'cancel culture' and violence not showed to balance the story. I will be getting a reply since I formally complained..... might take weeks or months.

Stopped watching Seven Sharp during Covid. Clearly not much has changed with this show, however look at the heads of tvnz, one of the women bosses is gay, so a heck of a lot of content is very driven by her. Rainbow pride has been hijacked by activists and they are coming for young minds

If the presenters of Seven Sharp wanted to present a balanced report, they would have included the material that you were offering them, and they could get a market research company to do an "independent" survey of Kiwis to see what they really think on the matter. I would imagine that if it validated your earlier research, the results would never make it onto the program.

Why cant people who want to live this way do it privately at home. They are exhibitions and not everyone is interested and do not want their offspring veiwing all this as normal behaviour.

If they don't accept the argument that the drag story times are harmful the what evidence/facts do they have that 'not' having drag story time is harmful? No one is asking them to do something against their wishes they are being asked to not do something against other peoples wishes which is a sign of respect. I thought pride was all about respect?

The argument about "where is the abuse at these events" is pathetic. You could then apply that to any circumstance where a kid is exposed to p*rn. There's no direct evidence of abuse so where's the harm, right? But this is really just soft mums enabling grooming which paves the way for predators to come in later. Putting aside the safeguarding argument for a moment, my main argument against drag is just that it's just the saddest, lamest entertainment for idiots I can think of, and it can be shamed on those merits alone.

Hilary really needs to take a look at the same subject in the context of other countries. Plenty of YTs & FBs videos revealing desperate parents who simply want their young children to have a fun childhood and none of this trans-gender come pedo by stealth grooming going on in communities. The personalities that were featured here need to stay in their lane with the adults who like this kind of thing & LEAVE OUR CHILDREN ALONE. We complaied and got nowhere with this anyway...emailed seven sharp and yeh nah nothing nothing nothing...and if you go to the broadcasting standards yeh nothing...been to them before on issues and they do nothing...our country is going down the drain quickly...I stand back and keep watch and yeh nah...it is not the same country I once knew...sad times...thanks for sharing...

My 4 children share our views and while we have never pressured them they have learned from us and from their own Grandparents, that there is a Right Way to live their lives! We support the work you’re doing, and will continue to gather support in the community using your message as a place to go to gather information to influence others!

This video fully covers every issue I have with drag story time. I have no issue with drag, drag queens, drag kings or drag culture at all. I have enjoyed a few drag shows on K Road here in Auckland. At the first of the drag story time events at Paraparaumu Library that I attended ... a librarian who sat beside me acknowledged that they could not follow all the correct protocols related to the content of the questions and answers (in relation to the age of the kids) because they do not know the questions beforehand.

Well that’s the end for me to watch Seven Sharp. Over the past year or so I stopped watching TV News. This is great as I can get more done around home without being brainwashed by these already brainwashed woke folk. Probably merely getting carried away in case they lose their job as the other channel did. Keep the great work up keeping our kids and families safe.

I’m not a fundamentalist Christian and I’m not a prude either but I do not agree with Rainbow story time , who is presenting it or the content of the stories for young children. They’re stepping way over the line. I have no problem with them as adult entertainment but stay away from the children

ya dont have to be religious or christian to be against this stuff . i wrote the mp wendy sc holum here in hastings expressing in a calm way what was wrong with this and she wrote back with a huge lie saying they had huge support for it even tho the post i saw about it had 99% negative comments
