MCC: Halo 2 - Cairo Station - Playing As An Elite Tutorial AUP

Here is a tutorial for how to play as an Elite on Cairo Station that I worked out. Thanks to Mister Monopoly, Hark The Shark and Nibre for great research with the Arbitrary Unit Possession glitch.
Here are some tips for the setup:
Skulls used are Envy, Sputnik, Bandana, Feather
Everything you do has to match in both setups.
Don't ever shoot or let enemies or AI shoot.
Throw/use the same number of grenades in both setups.
Once the AUP is set after the first session, you can revert to the start. No need to restart and do it before every attempt.

The best thing about those glitches is that the spartan also switches color for some reason like when youre a grunt youre Orange but if youre an elite youre blue.

Yeah, I love that the elite blue is the same as the multiplayer blue color.

@ yeah in halo 1 the jackal major turns you orange but the minor jackal turns you into a blue spartan

@ yeah Im not sure but I think it depends on the ports, if you mod the regular halo pc or just using the bump possession cheat on custom edition.

@ yeah you’re right sum of the character appears as white spartan on the hud but with bump possession the jackal minor is blue, don’t know why lol

There seem to be a lot of ones that are possible on Cairo station, hopefully someone can find another flood one, I died on the elevator as the flood but anyone thanks for the tutorial, great job on the discoveries.

Yeah Cario is a great man for it. We have the grunt, elite, many marine variants, and now master gunns and more. Exciting where it will end up. We think a bugger is possible from the elevator room.

@@DrBizz Someone got the Drone on Regret by using the Scarab skull. I did it myself. It's trickly but fun!

That’s amazing dude. Isn’t it fascinating how you get the sounds for shield being down and recharging, but you can’t see the shield on your HUD? Also, it takes a lot longer to charge back up. I assume it takes a while on easy, but would take less time on heroic?

Yeah good observation, it's weird how you don't see the shield recharge in the HUD but can hear it. I would think the shield would recharge at different rates based on the difficulty, yes.

elites have different recharge times depending on rank, for minors it takes 15 seconds to start recharging and 6 seconds to fully charge, difficulty doesn't change it

@@BlazedBacon627 Awesome, great info thanks! So...you could do this setup with Thunderstorm on and spawn as an ultra and you'd be VERY durable with a quick recharge. That would be awesome.

@@DrBizz happy to help, you can find the values in assembly but ultras have 200 shields and 90 health compared to our 70/30

@@BlazedBacon627 This is fantastic news for tricking because often durability is a huge advantage, especially when you are trying to launch high and far or blast yourself through a wall. An Ultra with a full overshield would be Godlike, wow.

Great work, mate. I've tried this on X360 lol, shot the 2 marines before they engaged with the enemies but couldn't get the glitch to work. Nice that you showed the extra info at the end.

If it's the same shots and number of bullets, there shouldn't be an issue. There is an extra trigger to load a group of enemies so that the next (and final) group loaded ends up only being the elite. That trigger happens when you pass into the bigger room just past the turret. Did you make it that far on both setups?

@@DrBizz Thanks. Same amount of bullets shot (obviously with a few reverts to CP), melee'd the other guy by the pinch guy but didn't take him into big room, after restart level failed to ghost P2 so he respawned with pistol.

@@DrBizz Haha got it working. AUP stealth mode is super cool, the shotgun wouldn't always shoot until I swapped weapons, CP's very erratic and nothing unusual in the cutscene apart from a minor murmur from Cortana. Thanks for uploaded the vid.

Yeah, I wish I had gotten a bigger following but for a long time I just did whatever I wanted which was uploading tricks with no explanations and only music so I think it was hard for people to understand. It's hard to stay motivated when you get 100 views and 3 comments from friends. But that's changing now, I really appreciate all the new subscribers and am finding new inspiration with it.

Yeah, this whole sequence of accidentally doing the first AUP and telling my buddy Harc about it, then hearing how Monopoli became the enforcer on accident and they figured out how it worked from there was so crazy. Actually, some other guys did it first on accident but we never knew what happened. Harc showed me their video and we were stunned. The whole thing was just incredible and so crazy such an amazing glitch was ever possible in a video game.

Absolutely, we had realized that. The Ultra's shield and health is crazy strong, AND we could build up an overshield with Black Eye. I'm definitely planning on having fun with that at some point.

I'm going thru and trying to do all these aups now, but it seems like since the glitch was found, the skulls effects of bandana are slightly different. So now, when it shows grenades as unlimited, and drops 4 of each grenade on death, will this effect the setup of this glitch at all? Is it possible than you can explain why so i can know for other tutorials?

What matters is matching the number of objects, shots fired, etc for each of the sessions. It shouldn't change anything if you do the same process both times perfectly.

Yes you can; playing as the Grunt on Outskirts, I've had an AI Marine, kick me off the mounted turret from the beginning. I'm guessing the AI treat you like another friendly AI.

Swapping weapons with your partner doesn't work. I can't remember if it works with other normal characters. As the elite the game is confused, you are an ally to every other biped in the game and no one attacks you haha.

Hey David. No, as long as you aren't on Legendary since your partner can't respawn with you of course. Easy is the way to go with these. Make sure to do each step I do exactly, use the same number of grenades in both sessions and don't shoot or let your allies or the enemies shoot.

@@DrBizz yea got it to work. the solution was the number of grenades. Sometimes I'd toss a grenade into the tram at the beginning to kill the guys inside for fun

I don't think it works anymore. Their is a barrier preventing you from skipping the tram.

That barrier is always there, it takes timing and a well placed grenade to get past it.

@@badwolfiecola529 Yeah I understand. It's not very easy, sorry you are having trouble with it. Keep at it and you'll get it. You'll notice that I scoot forwards and then back up into the barrier before the nade goes off to give myself some momentum before it blows up.

Michael Bell when one player dies on legendary in Halo 2, both players revert to last checkpoint. There’s no dying and respawning on legendary.

I can't seem to get the elite to spawn and I believe im doing the steps right but when I reach that second to last pillar it will just spawn chief

It can be very fickle and hard. This isn't really that easy of a setup. Without knowing what you're doing wrong, all I can say is follow my path with both players exactly, make sure everything in each session matches exactly in regards to grenades used. Don't let any AI or yourself shoot ANY bullets. Often something will happen without your knowledge that ruins it. Keep trying, you can do it. 👍

@@KeepItClean25 For sure. I do all of these setups on Easy for everything I've done or shown but anything besides Legendary works. And yeah, good point there may be extra enemies possible on the harder difficulty(s) that aren't normally there on easy.

@@DrBizz Yeah that could definitely be a negative factor in my attempts and thank you for clarifying the difficulty, hopefully this will be helpful for folks in the future who may be doing all the steps right but may not realize that it's the possible added units that messed up your whole run.
