Great job guy! Can you imagine if we some Lindstrom? That changes everything. Lindstrom, Slaf and Dach... Yikes! I still say in 1-2 years, HuGo will consolidate our talent by trading 2 or 3 excellent assets to land a bonafide offensive star. Even if half our blue chips work out, we'll be deep. What's missing is that 100pt player. It's not an absolute must, but we have a lot of quality bargaining chips. I'm sure HuGo will be patient. But when the time comes, and the right opportunity presents itself, we'll try to land an A++ offensive star. We're not contenders yet so there is no rush. But when the time comes, if a perfect fit presents itself, be bold! Overpay if you must but get it done! If we can land a 1st line player in this draft and another by way of trade. Or substantially upgrade someone we have now, we'll be set. We'll have an amazing top 6, guys like Roy, Newhook and Owen Beck on the 3rd. A big and talented defense with no huge holes. All we need is a championship goalie and we'll be serious contenders.
I think they’ll try & get that superstar forward in UFAs Don’t forget… Draisaitl’s contract ends in 2025… & McDavid’s contract ends in 2026… if Oilers can’t go deep in the playoffs by then… they might BOTH want to get out of there
Does Tomas Lavoie who plays for Cape Breton Eagles have a shot at U18 team? He’s a big right handed D who skates well and has a good first pass. I think he could go in two rounds this year
Habs management/coach have already committed to their first line "foolishly" that means any prospect trying to make the team at best won't get more than 3rd line status and if babied like Slafkovsky maybe second line. Point production is all about ice time you get top line status and PP you auto get points and if second line to 4th line you will struggle to produce more than 50 pts. So then we have the typical hockey fan seems to rate players ONLY by point production and seem to ignore playing like a playoff player a WINNER a PLUS player. This means so long Cole scores 30+ and Suzuki gets 70+ and Slaf gets 20 goals they will be our top ice time players LOSING most of the time to other top lines.I have also seen FOOLISH talk again trying to rate our top line solely based on points even though they have been a MINUS line. The goal is WINNING and hopefully winning with players that are TOUGH,win battles go to the net and make good decisions.
Nonsense. This is professional sports. It is a meritocracy. There are no players in the team deserving top line minutes ahead of Suzuki/Caufield/Slafkovsky. If or when there are, they will be on the top line.
We don’t want 5 full minutes of anyone saying the same thing over and over. You’re on a podcast, not hanging out with your friends where you get cutoff
