I have not always agreed with McCain on some issues, but I have to state when he was running for president against Obama there was a woman at McCain's rally that started to state incorrect information about Obama. McCain did correct her and actually praised his opponent. McCain has integrity and my respect. I do not blame him. My prayers go out to the McCain family.

I'm from the UK but follow American politics closely and I'd put myself left of centre as most UK NHS staff would; I would certainly be a democrat if I was in the US, but I hate that, the second anyone says they are democrat or republican, people from the other side immediately consider their opinion moot. I think so much of that is the doing of people like Trump and his divisive behaviour and policy, and I hate that it has made all the democrats hate the republicans, and all the republicans hate the democrats when there are clearly good and reasonable people on both sides. Hopefully now he's gone people we can see a return to John Mcain's way of thinking and people like you and I can accept we will have different opinions but that doesn't make either of us bad people, and doesn't mean we can't work together towards something that both sides can be proud of. It's refreshing to know that there are people right of centre who feel the same way. I hope this is the start of a new age of progress in America for you, and that the damage Trump has done to the reputation of the republican party can be undone!

I consider myself moderate but lean slightly right on the issues that matter most to me, but even I can admit trump was not fit to be our president. His polices might have been pretty decent, but dividing our country so extremely just to get said policies is a price nobody should deem acceptable. As much as I don’t like Biden or Kamalas views, I think if anything they will help unify us again and show the entire country, no matter what side you stand on, that there is good to be had on both

He was, unfortunately, one of very very few politicians of our time that knew how important it is to be willing to meet halfway. He always put country over party and always tried to find compromises because he knew finding the bipartisan solutions was the best way to move forward and benefit ALL Americans. Obviously, there are issues out there that don't present solutions that are bipartisan in nature. It is just a bummer that we're all at one another's necks over things that don't warrant the hostility and toxic behaviors. But yeah; McCain was a good man. I didn't agree with him all the time, but I respected the hell outta him.

I only knew about Senator John McCain when I started to follow news on the recent election.. and how I wish I’ve known him earlier. I am regretting badly and sad to find out so late that he’s not longer with us. While many may not agree with his stance, he fought in all honesty and might for what he believed in; for the right thing, for the people of America, not for the parties, and definitely not for power nor the senseless acts. He truly cared. I pray that the America he hoped for will come true, and may he rest forever in peace as he deserved it so very much.

Yeah, Obama was also a great speaker and very inspirational. I do think it would have helped him, but not in the end I feel as though he would have not won.
