Every place the USA had a war or base you pulled out, but you kept your base and a military presence there to help the afghans who worked with you to keep things in place, or you gradually evacuate Americans, equipment and everything you have before handing away your base and you destroy everything you do not take with you.

This is very simple issue, and everyone from an 8 year old playing call of duty to an 80 year in a nursing home understands it: first you take out the civilians, then you take out the troops. You evacuate everyone out of the secure airbase, then you close down airbase operations in an orderly manner. You don’t abandon the base in the middle of the night, leaving the AMERICAN FLAG STILL FLYING, and $90 million in weapons and equipment behind, then evacuate at a commercial airport surrounded by terrorists. If the Taliban wrote up a script that they wanted the US to follow, it couldn’t have been much worse. Did our government and military learn anything from the disastrous last day in Viet Nam? Every high ranking officer involved in advising or executing the orders of Biden who did not confront him with the obvious unnecessary hazarding of our troops that those orders entailed has blood on their hands. From Milley on down, they should have offered their resignations. But no, they wouldn’t rock the boat and mess up those post-retirement jobs on the board of Raytheon or some think tank. The worst of the,m, McKenzie, should have been relieved if not court-martialled. No, this isn’t about the Doha agreement, this is about the “Doh!” President and all of his minions. Thirteen American lives were not protected. And from. What we've learned the war could've been won in the first 5yrs if you hadn't had weak presidents listening to bad advisors who favored the enemy because they looked like them and advising them to turn back when they were almost winning doing a little dance of one foot forward and 2 steps backwards and tying your men's hands behind their backs. If things had been done correctly it couldve been 5 or 6yrs and youd keep you base and leave limited military there working with your allies to make sure everything remained as youd left it.
