Quartal harmony was developed in the early 20th century and you will hear it in the music of classical composers such as Stravinsky, Debussy, and Bartók Notable Jazz musicians like McCoy Tyner, Bill Evans, and Chick Corea and guitarists such as Jim Hall, George Benson, Pat Martino, Jack Wilkins, Joe Diorio, Howard Roberts, Kenny Burrell, Wes Montgomery, Bill Frisell all make use of this very modern and interesting way of harmonization. Your chart and the explanations of how these chords can be "thought of" in different ways is like a Rosetta Stone for me. Now I have my work cut out to really comprehend what and how this means and can be used. So glad I found your channel. Looking forward to learning much from you, kind sir. Hello Jim, thank you for your question, at present I do not have any videos specifically focusing on the upper chord extensions however if we look at the material we are studying currently - I don't know if you have seen our latest video on pentatonic chords ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Zl4gS6oN4Tg.htmlsi=cH2Ej5wv6pT56pWA even though I am referring to these chords a pentatonic chords depending on the musica context I could think of the 4 note and 3 note versions as minor 11th's, 13th. #11th etc., So in a way we are already playing these sounds we just as yet haven't labeled them a certain way.
