I would love to see a "best of" series. Where you have for instance: "best break cue for the money" or "best cue at x budget" all based on the scores they had received in their respective videos.

Great review! Another thing to note that I’ve learned over the years is the sport wraps degrade, harden and eventually start to break apart and are generally quite expensive to replace. I love their feel when new but can’t buy them anymore due to the limited lifespan of the wrap.
I own an original Sledgehammer break/jump cue which was manufactured by Mike Guliasi upon which he sold his brand and patents to McDermott Cues. Just to let you know a bit of history on this particular break cue. Same pin size. My tip and ferrule construction differ in that mine is one piece of fiber-reinforced phenolic resin. And the butt-cap rubber has a hole in it to accept a small screw to hold it to the butt through the weight pin. P.S.- I forgot to add that mine is wrapless and I don't play with the weight bolt installed. The cue weighs 17oz in this configuration. P.S.S.- Damn, I should have waited till farther into the video to make a comment and I would have known that you knew Mike was the originator of this! Nice that you did know that bit of info.
I knoe it's knit picking, but I'm dissapointed with the out of the box first impression. Even on the Lucky & Star series, the QC is usually top notch. If I spent notth of $400 on a cue (and I have) I'm going to be dissapointed when I open my brand new cue and it already has finger prints and a minor imperfections in the grip. I know no one is perfect, but this is out of form for McDermott (and its subsidiaries). I personally like the understated appearance.
It can vary between manufacturers, but for McDermott they run their spec of 58" excluding both the butt cap and the tip. Do you mean the polybag packaging? If so, yes indeed they do. However, some cue manufacturers are now starting to create some really nice retail packaging for their cues, hence mentioned here.
