Fast food was originally created to offer low cost meals to consumers on the go. By raising the cost this high, they give you no reason to buy it anymore..

i got this today.. it was sad how little food there was for $5.

A Mc Chicken and a small tea was like 4.70 the other day. So this basically adds a sm. Fries and a nuggets for 30 cents more

Hate to say it but it would take 2 of these $5 meals to get me full.

Even $5 is a joke. Let yourself believe this is a good deal, and we will all be paying high prices forever! Now is the time to stand our ground. Don't go until fast food bring prices down to where they really should be. If every aspect of business did this at the same time, maybe all households could go back to one paycheck, with the second paycheck for savings and the family's future and security.

Burger King value fries and McDonald's small fries are pretty much the same size. They come in the same sized little paper bag. Burger King small fries come in a larger paper cup. I also don't think McDonald's even offer smaller fries. The drink sizes also looks identical too. So it's pretty fair game to both chains! I personally much prefer Burger King burgers though.

So they put the stuff that was on the two for $3.99 menu which was the McDouble the chicken sandwich and the four piece nuggets. It was already discounted. A small fry is $1.70 they're basically giving you the small soda for free. That is truly not a deal and this is why McDonald's has become the laughingstock of the fast food chain.

The difference between a McDouble and a Double Cheeseburger is a second slice of cheese and about 20 cents on our current menu (Las Vegas). I like the second slice of cheese! The cost of adding a second slice of cheese to this $5.00 meal is now $6.00. The total cost of substituting a double cheeseburger drives the cost to about $11.00 total! McDonald's invented crazy fast food pricing. Glad they are continuing their tradition!

Order two of those and you're bangin' for $10. Not bad.

I remember working for McDonald's and standing next to the manager FLIPPING the burgers ,and he was telling me of how they were putting in the machine the cooks the burgers on both sides ,so you won't have to flip them , all you do is just remove them from the grill when they are done . That was back in !982 . Now they are telling their workers we won't need you at all in a few months .

The BEST value in fast food is the buy one get one free double cheese burger at McDonald’s. Price varies by location and some are buy one get one $0.29 or more. But that is without a doubt THE BEST deal

Interesting that you can customize the drink in the app. A large Coke makes it $5.50 or a small shake makes it $6.50.

McDouble is underrated

$5 meal: McDouble or McChicken + small fries + 4 nuggets + small drink. In my market, if you order on the app, you can get any size fries for $1.29, small drink for $1, one of the two sandwiches for around $2.50, but can't order only 4 nuggets (but if you have enough accrued reward points, you can get a 6 piece for free). Is the $5 meal that much of a bargain? I don't know, it doesn't seem like it really. Are those 4 nuggets the tipping point that will make you buy it? To each their own. I guess I'd rather order off the app, get a free or discounted item, and then eat inside so I can refill my small drink a couple of times.

It's a fair deal as far as fast food goes, but fast food is still a rip off. Meal prepping is so easy and fast, you save 75% and the quality of your food goes up 99%. We're just such a lazy society. Half of the US doesn't even know to cook simple meals. It always blows my mind when I drive by a starbucks or McDonalds and see a line of people waiting 20 minutes in line to pay a 900% premium for the worst food on planet Earth, and then they wonder why they're living paycheck to paycheck with a negative net worth, credit card debt, massive car payments etc. while taking home $45,000 a year or less in many cases.

Let’s get down to the basics of what McDonald’s, was actually founded with. It was consistency and speed so I think what I’m seeing here is there is a variance of pricing between the app the store to drive through every different one you have a different price so what I have to say to you McDonald’s if you want to stay in business, but you’re awful greedy to begin with you have to have a consistent price throughout the entire world not just one location or two locations or 20 locations but everywhere then you might make a comeback right now. McDonald’s is barely edible food and it’s really not good for you. Your hamburgers suck you want a decent hamburger go to Culver’s yes you’ll pay a price but at least you’ll get what you pay for that some crap on a bun McDonald’s Mc doubles used to be one dollar now they’re five really the cost of labor went up that much really it just sounds like you’re being greedy as usual

How is this a new review? We have all had this meal before. It's nothing new, just the price. And, just a few years ago you got alot more food for $5.

i guess it's a lot of food for some people and reasonable price but im not that impressed. if you buy a mcdouble and fries it comes to five bucks so essentially they are just throwing in a small fountain drink and four piece nugget (neither of which i would want).

It's not even true at my McDonald's. I just went about two hours ago. If you want the one with meat, it's one more dollar. It's only 5 dollars for the chicken sandwich when you get the 5 dollar meal deal.
