Just being honest.......these videos have done more to make me buy McDonald's than any corporate advertising in the past 20 years. Thanks for the awesome content.
@@johnSmith-lx9nw You have a point. But thanks to these videos, I’m at least willing to try. That will probably all end when I get a Big Mac built sideways…….
@@nigeljames6017 Well, in truth, it's a ridiculous thing to say. There are a billion things more interesting than watching someone's every move while they work at McDonald's.
After watching this, I sorta see why nobody wanted to do breakfast and lunch at the same time. Breakfast takes up a lot of time, especially the eggs, and doing a full lunch menu as well is just a lot to keep up with.
YES!!! At the restaurant I worked at Front of House would say, hey we should do breakfast all day! And I’d be like, uh, NO. Do you know how hard that would be, logistically? Way too much going on!
Try being a line cook for the cheesecake factory. Now that's a menu, on top of brunch it's absolute pandemonium. Respect to this gentleman from one cook to another 🙏
I'm so mesmerized of how mcdonalds can be so different from country to country. I'm a first assistant at mcdonalds in Sweden and our techniques for cooking eggs are entirely different, and I've never seen the steak before! Really interesting. Great work🙏🏻
@@stephenpatterson8056 omg thanks for reminding me, I forgot to check if my local McDonald’s restaurants had it. Might have to go to the one down the road from my house later this week once my knee and face heal a little bit from wrecking my electric scooter on gravel yesterday lol.
I don’t work at MCD but rather CFA. I know it’s just fast food but when I’m cooking those chicken sandwiches I try, like this guy, to serve good hot food. Take pride in some of this work and folks will be happy to eat there, like they did in the vintage videos I see of fast food restaurants in the 60s-80s.
the machines they use are icnredible. There is a website you can see all the machines they have. I don't know if anyone can buy them though, I think is for franchises only but you can still go and see. I stumbled with the website because I was trying to find the ketchup and mustard dispensers.
As one of millions who have worked in food service at one time in their life. I find these videos strangely ASMR like. It calms me down after a hectic day. Thanks for the content.
I worked at McDonald's waaaay back in the mid-80s. This grill area looks nothing like what 16 year old me slaved in. We actually made the hotcakes from liquid batter...the McMuffin eggs were cooked in this metal contraption with a small water reservoir on top that slowly released water to steam the eggs on the grill...we did grill and hold the sausage back then...I think we made the scrambled to order when the bin caller ordered up a Big Breakfast but I can't remember exactly...we had two biscuit ladies who made them fresh every morning...the bacon was shaped in little circles to fit on the biscuits better. That's about all I can remember about breakfast. For lunch, I was the reg grill master. I could pack that bin with Big Macs (and regular burgers) during any rush.
Recently I took some part-time work working in a fairly fancy kitchen and I forgot how much I hate kitchens no matter if it’s fast or fancy! i’m now in healthcare and I think fast food workers and such are just as valuable, putting up with the absolute trash of the world lol keep it up
My man with the one-handed egg cracking technique. Regardless of what stove you work on, that's the mark you've been doing it a while! Thanks for all these vids. I've always been curious about what goes on back there.
I LOVE the steak egg and cheese bagels I couldn't believe they stopped making them for a while. Now that they are back I get at least one every Friday morning!! SOOOO GOOD 😊
None in Central Oregon where I live either. I think the last time I had one was in the early 2000's when I was working in the Bay Area in CA. I used to get two of them every morning before work. I miss them so much.
He seems like a great owner/operator. Great insight. I wonder if he’s going to show any videos of him cleaning up after hours or doing any of the grunt work like unloading the delivery trucks etc. he’s also very professional and kind to all the team members.
The amount of equipment that needed to be innovated, the special spatulas are awesome. The self closing grills. It's like NASA engineers designed the kitchen. And tbh I'm sure a few probably did at a time.
You know, it’s funny to see how the McDonald’s grill area hasn’t changed much. I worked at a McDonald’s in 2011 and basically everything seems the same…
You can tell this is somebody that has been given a job and actually appreciates it and takes pride in what he does whether is fast food or porn million dollar driveways with concrete it don’t matter he takes pride in his work and that’s all that matters 100% hats off to you my man
Thanks Stephen, I've been wanting to see how you make the scrambled eggs. I've grown up in the fast food business, like you, and I"m fascinated with the cool tools McDonalds has developed to keep things efficient and consistent. The toasters, warming cabinets, grills and even the spatulas are smart. They didn't get to be the biggest hamburger franchise being inefficient!!! Thanks again.
I hated making the steak because it took so much longer than the other stuff but it tastes pretty good I really like getting a bagel with steak/onions, 2 slices of cheese, few strips of bacon and a sausage patty that’s an amazing combo
That probably because they don’t follow procedure as he does. I used to be a floater at McDonalds (worked at several at one time) and many do not follow food prep procedure as Mr. Patula does!!!
I always wondered how you guys did scrambled and you just answered the question in this video thanks for that would like to see more especially you guys switching over from breakfast to lunch that would be epic and get a lot of views and likes.
I'm SO craving these items we're missing at my local McD's. Biscuits & gravy, bagel breakfast sandwiches...AND steak patties?! Not sure if it's all of the West coast, or just SoCal, that's not serving these items but we're missing out! 😲
Wow, I am old, 🤣 worked at a McDonald's in the 80s and we had none of this equipment, thanks for the POV. I think the only thing the same was the grill scraper 🤣 Things sure have changed. Great video...
@@ghoulishgoober3122 What I mean is that the "steak" used in the bagel is not used anywhere else on the menu and is grilled with the onions on it. No other menu item is prepared this way
It always amuses me that the beeping in a McDonald's kitchen is really just a prelude to the same set of noises in the resuscitation room when you've had your McCoronary event.
Stephen I watch your content I love it bud I'm a Crew Leader at my McDonald's and I use you to help me assemble sandwiches and learn how to have a positive attitude at work during high stress days I'm sure you can relate. And I learn how to cook bacon from watching you and I'm one of the best bacon cookers in are restaurant thanks bud.
Why do we watch this and are entertained? Because most of us watching have never worked in a MCDs and this is awesome to see how it looks behind the counter. Kudos to all the kids and adults that have been employed and are employed. Love or hate McDonalds, they give people jobs.
Stephen, I love your videos! I could literally watch them over and over again and feel satisfied inside. Oh wait, oh yeah. I have Mickey D's for breakfast this morning. BOOM!
I've ate McDonald's for 40 years now, and because of this video, I now know they make it fresh at that store. I know most is pre-made processed but because of this guy, I had no idea how much is made at store just before I eat it.
I haven't ate at a McDonalds for at least 6+ years. This man's video made me go back and try a double quarter pounder for the first time. In fact... I think I haven't ate McDonalds for 9 years... times has changed when I entered one 2 weeks ago. Lol. Big screen tvs, kiosk, wow.
Most people think that stuff at McDonald's is just thrown in a fryer or premade and microwaved and that is it. Nowadays as much as possible is fresh, I think it is awesome!
