That ending has been stuck in my head for almost 50 years now. Way to go on finding such a good print of this commercial. I don't think there's a better, sharper copy of this ad on youtube today.
McDonald's with Uncle O' Grimacy from 1978 is my #2 Favorites in the Shamrock Shakes Commercial Ads! Great Video Quality! My #1 Is Still the 1973 Ad with Evil Four Armed Grimace Changing from Purple to Green while Drinking One! Great Shakes! Still Miss a whole lot the Original Milkshake Version! Now they are Whipped Cream like Latte' Parfaits! Although I Still Keep the St. Patrick's Tradition with One and a Filet O Fish Sandwich! Thank-You For Sharing and God Bless!
Who's here after finding out the 1978 Philadelphia actor of Uncle O'grimacy got into a pub fight, declared allegiance to the IRA & said the only type of good British soldier was a dead one? 😂😂😏😏
When originally introduced in 1970, the Shamrock Shake originally had both vanilla and lemon-lime sherbet soft-serve topped with vanilla syrup, but by 1973 they dropped the lemon-lime sherbet from the mix, leaving it as merely a vanilla soft-serve mixed with green dye. Then in 1980, there also existed the Shamrock Sundae, which had the same vanilla soft-serve base but topped with mint green syrup.
No that's incorrect information. It's always been mint. The man who invented it, last name is Rosen, his son has given the history of the shamrock shake.
3 Simple rules to live by: Never ask a woman her age. Never ask a man his income. And never ask Uncle O'Grimacy what he was doing on August 15th 1998 in Omagh, Northern Ireland.
