I dont think its nearly as bad as some of you are saying. The shading around the eyes is comic accurate, I will say the red should be a bit darker tho.
Your figure scale comparisons are the best on RU-vid! Thank you for taking time to do those, it really helps with making a call on buying some of these!
I'm actually ok with the head sculpt, the thing that bugs me is the inaccurate belt and boots. The belt shouldn't connect to itself at the front like it does in Barry's suit, and the boots should have a straight front edge, instead of that V-shape they got going on here. It's still a ok figure, but it still feels lazy that they didn't bother changing the belt and the boots to be accurate to Wally's suit.
I just painted over his, for lack of a better term, eyeshadow, and he looks way less evil. I did leave the the black circles directly around his eyes, though. It looks crisper and I worried that removing those would make him look like a Deadite, lol. And to echo other commenters, your reviews and comparisons really help me decide what figures I want and which ones I don't. Thanks!
When they announcend the Black variant of the Knightfall Batman i thought: I forgive you Todd, maybe after this you'll release another figure that will make me mad but in the meantime, I forgive you. Then I saw this and said: yeah, I was right
It’s like human faces are just not possible at macfarlane. Do you need a gold infected jokerized glow in the dark rebirth dark universe gold label Batman or just a normal Barry Allen
Thanks for the great review. Saved me having to buy this one. That head makes him look 40-years old. I'll stick with the all red suit for my adult Wally West Flash and the Monitor wave figure for my teenage Wally Flash.
Greetings Hunter, i think that (over)confident, I am the fastest man/ the fastest Speedster ever (only rivaled by Black Flash), smirk represents the more fun-loving character of Wally in comparison to Barry Allen, pretty good. He looks definitely kind of sinister with the smirk and the "smokey eyes" (to make the eyes pop more) but maybe we have a typo here by McFarlane like at the WonderCon and it is the Wally of Heroes in Crisis where (not only) he actually is evil!?
@@dHuntersReviews Traditional but samey! As we all know Todd likes to alter variables to lower the hurdles for buying a character again/ or buying at all. Here he has altered, firstly, the facial expression by mainly giving him a smirk (more fun-loving character of Wally) and a slightly sinister presence (maybe a draw for fans of Heroes in Crisis or badasses in general). And secondly the color (the first Wally in "traditional" red-and-yellow how most of the fans want their flash). But you (and anybody else too) like what you like and as a completionist he doesn't need to draw you in, right!?
Thanks for the review bro!. Your videos are always helpful to us toy collectors.. 🙏💕 After I saw your video; I searched on Google where the headsculpt of this Wally West figure is adapted.. I just found out that this Wally West is from the comic "Flash One Minute War".. In the comic "Flash One Minute War", Wally West's cowl has a white eye and fully covered nose, while Barry Allen's cowl has a normal eye and none covered nose.. No wonder why this Wally West figure has a cowl with white eyes and fully covered nose, while the Barry Allen figure has a cowl with normal eyes and none covered nose..
Correction DHunter! That is NOT Wally West Flash, that’s clearly Eobard Thawne dressed up in a Flash suit to mess with Barry and tricked everyone into thinking they got Wally! Damn Super Villains and their evil plots!
If someone took all of the black paint off of the face it might look ok. Maybe I'll keep waiting for a decent Wally West Flash. Nope, I caved and got him. Face looks better in person. Glad to finish my core JLA.
I think people were more talking about what that wally west head looked like on the flashpoint flash because most like that flash better!... Todd McFarlane must of had a damn stroke approving this figure!
WHY YOUR FLEXING ON ME. My parents where supposed to order it for me and i was gonna pay them back but they where lazy and waited to long!! NOW HES OUT OF STOCK T-T Also the symbol is from the 2 wally west's Dr Manhattan and the Maroon one with the same body bulk
good review bro the flash he s ok, I really like his look, but not his powers, the effects help, as I d see how I could pic - pose with a somewhat convincing scene, I d compare with the Joes firing effect with the guns, it s def cool. like you, I like the previous head better but I prefer the new body deco, simpler, nicer logo mm, the swap make him best version no contest I agree with your modern version choice, it s fab! before you, I actually thought I liked comics, but when I compare, I think I focused Joes and prioritised on them way more and there was a point in stories where it felt more 'soap opera' oriented, developing characters in some personal ways instead of action plots. I think my fav period was 70s - 80s, then, it got political, or less intense funny enough, I miss how it was naive too, lol news I m working on my dio s corniche around the building, waiting for the paint to dry while watching this, it has to progress [87%] lucky, found 1 60th infantry, bought used Elektra, and Modok, ordered Indy s father as last of the line for me. so now you know... good show bro
Dude the Flash looks more like the jay garrick rival figure, why does McFarlane do amazing figures and then the next second makes an absolutely awful figure,he can do good Flashs but this is his probably his worst yet.
@@dHuntersReviews McFarlane toys are odd, the figure is always almost perfect very rarely perfect and McFarlane usually McFarlane's stuff instead of making it completely comic accurate which can work but sometimes ruins the figure entirely.
