SPHR McGill and other groups escalate as Police Disperse Pro-Palestinian Demonstrators
In an exclusive interview, we hear directly from one of the protesters, gaining insight into the motivations behind the protest.
The police used pepper spray and tear gas to disperse the protesters outside McGill University. 15 people were arrested for interfering with the work of a police officer and breaking and entering. They were later released pending charges.
McGill sought an injunction to have the camp dismantled but the court rejected that request. McGill says it's trying to come to a peaceful resolution but that its offers have been rejected by the protesters. The two sides haven't talked since protesters walked away from the discussions two weeks ago.
