A 300 Watt per channel stereo amplifier, the MC312 is a great choice to power virtually any home audio system. The full 300 Watts can be delivered to almost any speakers regardless if they have 2, 4 or 8 Ohm impedance thanks to our unique Autoformer™ technology.
The MC312 has received numerous improvements compared to our previous 300 Watt stereo amplifier. Most notably is that filter capacity has been doubled, which increases dynamic headroom an impressive 27% from 1.8dB to 2.3dB. This increase means the MC312 will be even better suited to handle wide dynamic swings in your music. Distortion prevention and bass performance also benefit from the increased filter capacity.

@@MadAudiofficial I know but that’s what happens sometimes when you live alone and don’t have help.😂 Well I moved recently and bought my first ever home so I’m still in planning stages and everything is unfortunately still in boxes. So not good for now.

Thank you for your review. I just ordered the McIntosh MC152 myself for my 2 channel stereo setup. Please be advised the 300 watts on the MC312 is not accurate as they always are very conservative with their watt rating on their amps. You cant expect to get at least 350 watts with that wonderful amp. Enjoy

I have the MC 152. I absolutely love it. I had the c49 preamp it was fantastic, but I upgraded it to the C2700 and it just blew my mind. I cannot describe how beautiful it sounds with the tube pre-amplifier.

@stephencosta6814 My concern with going with Tube preamp with my MC152 was thst it will sound even warmer which I don't want with my Focal speakers which are not thst bright like B&W speakers. If anything I want my system to sound more articulate and open . Right now sticking with my NAD 658 preamp

Thanks for sharing I've been thinking about purchasing a power amp to boost my old class A hifi amplifier. I've recently become very interested in the Mc Intosh power amplifier. However I was wondering whether or not to just buy a new multi channel receiver amplifier with digital surround to use as home theater and as a stereo amplifier for music? Or just get a receiver for home theater and a separate power amplifier for music. I realised what you meant in terms of the capabilities of your new amplifier with regards to using multiple channels. Although when you use a centre channel for home theater I guess that you will be limited to the centre channels maximum output unless it has a higher impedance compared to your floorstanding speakers? Also are the rear surround channels mono in true digital surround ? I know it was in the past but I'm not sure about now. 👍

Is been a long time since i made this video, what i learn is that most of reciver are just not the best way to really speak about High Fidelity music reproduction, my suggestion is to keep the things separate, any proper HiFi Preamp or integrated amplifier will just blow away any reciver in HiFi!

OMG i did this video almost 2 years ago when i started this channel, and has a terrible quality compare it to now🙈, anyway i still have the MC312 and still love it but is now connected to the Sonus Faber Serafino Tradition and i use a Cambridge Audio Edge NQ as preamp! VU meter are mostly around 30-40 Watts maximum so i still have good power if i need but Generally my listening section are done at moderate volume levels since i am not faraway from the speaker✌🏾

Did you only get the power amp? I just wondering if I should get MC 312 and the C2700 or C53 but as it is very costly to get both at the same time, I may need consider getting the MC 312 (or the MC 462) and us my Musical Fidelity M5si as the Pre amp or simply connect the power amp to my CXN V2. I am using the Concept 500 speakers. So what do you think? The shop also suggest me to consider MA 12000 or MA 9500 if I want to lower my budget.

I can tell you what i will do if i have a pair of Concept 500 but that's doesn't mean that u have to agree with, in the end is important that you choose what make you feel more happy..I will defenitly stay with a Integrated Amplifier cause will make no sense to go separate in this price range.Are u not happy with the M5si?

@@MadAudiofficial Thanks for your comments. Just wondering, why would consider integrated instead of going separate? I was thinking going separate would offer me more flexibility in the event I wanted to upgrade my system in the future. As for M5si, I somehow found it lack power (as compared to the M8xi integrated I recently tested). I then went to listen the MA 12000 and 9500. Found the vocal to mesmerising with MA 12000 - probably due to the tube.

@@leslie-1127 cause i will move on separate only if i have the budget to do it and today there are really good Integrated Amplifier on the Market, Musical Fidelity is coming with the new Nuvista 800.2 that is impressive, take a look also of Rotel X3/X5 series!

Just came back from the Mcintosh shop - wanted to try out C2700 with MC462 but they only had MA12000 so we connect MA12000 to MC462. I simplify loved the results. Not sure if C2700 will offer the same results with MC462 and my Concept 500. I was thinking of first getting the MC462 and use my M5si as the Pre Amp. Probably get the C2700 or other Pre emp towards the end of the year. What do you think of (a) whether MA12000 is a good representation of the C2700 when connected to the MC462 and (b) whether it is ok for me to connect the M5si as the pre in the interim.
